I don't think it's an admission of guilt. They've been after him for how many years now? They've never proven anything, but refuse to give up. I'm sure he's tired of dealing with it.

Definitely an admission guilt. And I would like to add that I really don't give a shit. Literally everyone in cycling used.

It's just like the MLB, people were using and no one gave a shit because the stands were full of fans wanting to see a 600 foot home run. The league made money and now for them to get the holier than thou attitude is sickening. Everyone knew what was going on and no one said shit because their pockets were full of cash. Very similar to The Tour.

Obviously I don't know if he cheated or not, but this is whats wrong with this process. No matter what reasons he gives that he stopped fighting, it will be perceived as an admission of guilty. The whole thing has been a lose-lose situation. He doesn't test positive, they say he hid it well. He fights it, they say he is hiding something. He stops fighting, they say it's an admission of guilt. It's basically learned helplessness.

Who cares? It was always obvious he used something. Everyone in cycling is using, what is the likelihood that someone could be the greatest ever WHILE competing on an uneven playing field? It doesn't change the fact he got off his death bed to win 7 titles.

He's done more good than 99% of people through his Livestrong foundation. If using PED's was what it took to put himself in a position to raise half a billion dollars for cancer research and treatment, then so be it.

His biggest crime was seeming too perfect. It's the reason people will rejoice at his downfall.

Paterno did lots of good things too, emirite? Yes, he's just like a person who covered up child rape.

Just kidding. Let's stand by him like his wife stood by him.

He's a POS.

I don't think it is an admission of guilt. Through his career, they were never able to prove anything, even as the most tested cyclist. The USDA apparently only is allowed to go back 8 years in investigation, yet they went 17 years back with Lance.

Also lol Ted, there is no correlation between the PSU situation and Lance's.

Why wouldn't he fight it? Seems fishy. He's passed every test, thus the only reason for him to do this is if he knew they had something. Otherwise 'defending' yourself is the same as it has always been

Maybe because he's sick of the bullshit? He passed every test they threw at him. If they had something on him, they would have already said so.

I think it is very obvious why you continue to fight it. If you are completely innocent you fight something.

What about the people who are completely guilty and continue to fight? Nice logic fail.

There comes a point when you get tired of wasting time, money, and energy on something. How many times does he have to prove them wrong?

So if he is guilty you have no issue with him passing himself off as clean, stand up citizen and constantly bringing up his past tests?

Fuck it, he beat cancer right? He just doped to get a boost.

I don't have any issues w/ Armstrong, but I thought he was doping wayyyy back.

He did fight it for over a decade with multiple organizations, including the Justice Department, initiating investigations. It has to be physically and emotionally draining to have to defend oneself years after an event took place, especially when physical evidence is in his favor. It really can be a classic case of Learned Helplessness. Why should he even try to fight it if he realizes that he has no control over the situation.

On the news today, they mentioned that this may give the International Cycling Union the opportunity to appear the decision to some court or arbitrator in Switzerland. They may be a more impartial place for the situation to play itself out as it's obvious that whether Lance is guilty or not, AADA was not going to keep it fair.

Somewhere around 500 drug tests in 10 years or so is what i heard. how much more does he have to do? instead of fighting it this time, he is basically just ignoring them and not giving them any more attention etc.
