And people wonder why the true unemployment rate hovers around 14% in our country. But a certain poster with 3 degrees in finance will argue that only shitty jobs are sent overseas. Try reading the article and tell these people how shitty their jobs were.
I don't have a problem at all with Americans competing globally. What I have a real problem with are these countries, like China, that have absolutely no labor laws in place for true competition. The Chinese government siphons off trillions of dollars from their people in order to buy American equity...or loan to the US government.
Imagine the outrage in this country if the US had 90% of it's citizenry living in bungalos, while the national government was sitting on trillions.
Romney et al spew the same garbage. Cut taxes will solve it all. All cutting taxes will do is hasten the export of America's good standard of living.

Good for Bain. Saving a company from overpaying for manual labor, which Americans cost too much to perform.

[yawn]. Exceptions don't prove a rule...you're teachers SHOULD have taught you that. Same way you try to cite a few companies with no tax liability in a particular year (do to loss carry-forwards or write-offs) and claim that proves America doesn't have among the highest corporate tax rates in the world, despite ample evidence proving and showing just that.
No one says bunk when Honda or Toyota opens a plant in the US. Outsourcing goes both ways. Trying to protect uncompetitive workers is a lose-lose. Auto plants going to China are primarily to position for that growing market, the same sort of choice Honda and Toyota have made locating in the US because exporting whole cars is really expensive. The article is a nice spin written by someone who doesn't understand how to create value in a company and targeted to exploit similarly ignorant people. You wouldn't put real value at risk with this kind of move - the profitability and competitiveness (long-run) is grossly overstated in this article, we can guarantee that. I mean, there's a reason this company and it's components have been sold by Honeywell, etc, in the first place.
And rather than invest in that company you'd prefer a handout from the govt instead of a dividend from a successful company.

There's an energy boom in the US. But let's squash that and focus on saving jobs that put screws in holes.

That's fine. Just don't ever bitch about the national debt if that's how you feel. Because the outsourcing of jobs due to unfair global competition is a "cause and effect" in high unemployment, government spending, expansion of government.sleeper;1249794 wrote:Good for Bain. My point is that Romney hasn't said one thing that he will do differently than Obama. Sans vetoing Romneycare...uh, I mean.... Obamacare. Excuse me.believer;1249843 wrote:Raising taxes sure as hell won't improve America's good standard of living.
Don't believe me? Well here's Romney's campaign manager admitting as much. Hilarious. But go ahead, root for the home team...like it's gonna matter a hill a beans.

Unfair? Not at all. It takes an understanding of global economics, something you severely lack, in explaining why companies are outsourcing.Footwedge;1249877 wrote:That's fine. So what country will you be migrating to? The Indians have a 100 business majors smarter than you that can do your shit for 30 cents on the dollar. The only difference is that they won't need your ass to train them. Who knows, maybe social security will be solvent over there in India. Find religion.sleeper;1249903 wrote:Unfair? Not at all. Th whole article loses credibility when it starts with the "Bain and Romney killed my wife" ad and proceeded to defend it.
After that everyone should stop reading.
On top of that this is happening currently while Romney left Bain more than 10 years ago. So your attempt at tying this to the current candidates is an outright lie.

I never mentioned the name Bain in my editorial. I don't care who the company is. There is nothing partisan in what I wrote. I didn't try to tie anything to anything. It's you and your wild imagination that connected some dots. You should apologize.jmog;1249924 wrote:Th whole article loses credibility when it starts with the "Bain and Romney killed my wife" ad and proceeded to defend it.

If you disagree with my assessment on outsourtsourcing American wealth, then have at it. That's what my editorial, opening thread opinion was all about.

Hogwash. Continuing to spend on services when less revenue is coming in is not acceptable.Footwedge;1249877 wrote:That's fine. Just don't ever bitch about the national debt if that's how you feel. I just read the article and just took it as "shame on them for wanting to make more money." I'm all for keeping jobs in the US, but if my company would say they are shipping my job elsewhere I wouldn't QQ about them wanting to make more money, I'd say ok and try to find somewhere else to work. Nobody owes me a job, its on me.

This. A mentality lost on Footwedge because he thinks Americans can be competitive with $25/hr salaries to screw in a screw.Terry_Tate;1249974 wrote:I just read the article and just took it as "shame on them for wanting to make more money." ....okay Wedge...suggestions?....and who can we elect to pull them off?
Right now...its Romney/Ryan...or Barry and Snookie. One of those pairs gets elected in November. Tell me who you think I need to vote for and why. If it isn't going to make a difference, could you suggest a good place to emigrate?

He'll likely tell us it's Ron Paul. The problem is the Paulists made a valiant effort but have fallen woefully short of the target. Paul ran as an "R" and lost. End of story.HitsRus;1250092 wrote:....okay Wedge...suggestions?....and who can we elect to pull them off?
It may not be ideal, but this is a fact. The bottom-line is it's a simple matter of deciding if we want 4 more years of Barrynomics. If so, vote for Obama or waste your vote on Ron Paul. Either one locks it in.HitsRus;1250092 wrote:Right now...its Romney/Ryan...or Barry and Snookie. One of those pairs gets elected in November.
Perhaps a Romney presidency is more of the same, but common sense tells me that the answers do not lie in an Obama second term.

Paul or Gary Johnson would have had an easier time beating Obama than winning the Republican primary honestly. At least if Obama wins we get another chance in 4 years of electing a real candidate instead of 8 more years of crap. I won't vote for Paul since he won't be on the ballot but I will be voting Johnson.
