As you all know AdSense was abruptly stripped away from the site without warning or explanation. I've been told it can take weeks for them to finally get back to you and it's now been close to 6 weeks. I'm not confident that it's ever coming back. To make up for this loss of revenue that keeps the site going I need to look elsewhere. I've decided to explore the option of using local business to advertise on the OC.

If you have a business or know of someone that does that would like to advertise on the OC please contact me. To start off I'm going to offer 4 levels of sponsorship. They are as follows:

1. Presenting sponsor ($750/month) - With this sponsorship your business will be the presenting sponsor of Ohio Chatter. This means the site name would be "Ohio Chatter: presented by Your Business Name." This will give you the most exposure as your business name will be plastered on every page of the site. There will be only one presenting sponsorship available at any given time.
2. Main sponsor ($150/month) - With this sponsorship your business will get a 728x90 banner ad placed at the top of every forum page. Your banner will be rotated with the other main sponsors but there will be a max of 4 so you will get exposure on AT LEAST 25% of all pageviews.
3. Forum sponsor (varies) - With this sponsorship a link to your business will be displayed following the forum description on the forum listing page. The pricing on this sponsorship will be based on the number of posts in the particular forum you would like to sponsor.
4. Basic sponsor ($20/month) - With this sponsorship a small banner and link to your business will be placed on a new sponsors page. This page will be prominently displayed in the main site navigation.

Ohio Chatter averages ~35k unique visits (~75k visits) and ~500k pageviews per month. Visitors average over 7:30 minutes on the website and view over 6.5 pages per visit.

Please contact me if you are interested in advertising. Since this program is just starting I can be flexible with pricing. I will also offer discounts for purchasing multiple months at a time.

It's time I get serious about bringing money back in to the site. Take a look at this and offer up any suggestions if you think anything needs changed or added. I'll move it to the other forums around lunch time.

Added a 4th sponsorship (forum sponsor) and some metrics so they'll know roughly how many eyes will be seeing their ads per month.

I cant help you out in terms of having anyone contact you (as I am a contractor and cant really push this kind of thing), but it might be worth your time to contact my company (BCSN, out of Toledo). Local sports broadcasting station that focus' on mainly HS sports. Dont have a lot of money, but if you could somehow partner with them, it might help your HS coverage somehow...at least NW Ohio.

I'm going to post this on Facebook, and make it visible to all the marketers I know (they have a "grouping" on my Facebook). I'll see if I can get some hits.

Unfortunately, most of them are in the biz-opp space (teaching small business owners or aspiring small business owners how to run an online business) ... some are even pretty spammy ... but they make money at it, and they're legally legit. Might get some feedback when I tell them that there are half a million page views per month.

What about a cheap option that lets users advertise in their signatures? Could include it in a thread about the advertising, AS WELL AS some possible places where you can sign up as an affiliate.

THE4RINGZ is going to buy an ad in the HS football forum through the end of the year. That's it so far.

Got our first advertiser in the HS football forum. THE4RINGZ stepped up, hopefully now that there is one advertiser more will sign up. It seems no one ever really wants to be the first.

Ringz is all pissed off at something on the HS forum and is threatening to leave. Has he threatened to pull his ad yet?

He's just pissed because his post was removed and Otrap tried to clean the thread up. He has his moments where he acts like a little bitch. This is just another one of them. He says he's gonna leave, but he never does, or he ends up coming back after a week or so. Same ol' Ringz.

That thread is so damn hard to moderate because I know none of their inside jokes.
