Dedicated thread for all 2012 season chatter.

Here are few tidbits from camp:

- Fitz and Clark have been held out of practice as part of their punishments. Both will start practicing. Most are predicting that neither will play against Alabama, and Clark could be out a while. I think if Fitz completes his other punishments, it's not unreasonable to only hold him out a half.

- Roy Roundtree had his knee scoped Friday, but they are expecting him back to practice in 2 weeks. This will most certainly have an impact against Alabama.

- Devin Gardner continues getting reps at WR. There is still a lot of speculation on how much the use him there, but I am expecting we may see quite a bit of him, especially if Roundtree has to miss any time.

How does the WR's for scUM look? They lost Hemming way as well, correct? Who will be the playmaker(s) there?

I think Michigan will overall be better than last year, but have a worse record

Correct, Hemingway is gone, which was a huge loss. Stonum is gone too (to Baylor), and that will really bite us in the ass. Roundtree and Gallon are the two primary receivers. Freshman Darboh is looking impressive and could get some PT this year. Reports are good on Gardner, but at this point he is a project until he sees some action. Past that, we have some ok receivers but nothing great.

This is entirely possible. Pretty tough schedule this year.

I really hope they go easy on first time offender Fitz and only sit him a half at worst. We NEED him badly that night.

Yeah they need him. However, on a positive note, Thomas Rawls is getting very good reviews. Sounds like he is going to be a player. Freddie said that he was slated to start the opener last year until he hurt his shoulder. Then Fitz grabbed the opportunity and secured the spot over the course of the season.

Frank Clark stole a laptop from a dorm room and was back practicing today? Stay classy Michigan.

Sounds like Akise Teague, except he was dismissed from the UC football team. Why do you want people like that in your program?

Practice ≠ Playing. I'm not following him super closely, but it sounds like he's practicing but outlook not so good on actually playing.

Simmer down goose. He won't be playing for awhile. Punishment will most likely follow the legal process.

Damn that sucks.

I was excited to see what he'd be able to do at this level this season. I saw a bunch of video of him this past season just because of where I live, and the kid was a beast.

I live here in Toledo and have been able to watch him play, both football and basketball, and unfortunately I've got a feeling he may go the way of Kenny Hayes at OSU. These Whitmer kids just don't seem to pan out when they get to the next level (even Kevin Koger never lived up to his 4* billing).

Koger's problem was 3 years of Rich Rod though. I saw him play every night on the BCSN Highlights. I'm so glad Buckeye Cable extends into Temperance, MI.

I was going to say the same about Koger. He would have flourished with Hoke I think.

You keep people "like that" on the team because of due process.

Then I guess we'll see what Michigan does with him if he pleads guilty or is found guilty.

UM's season will hinge on Robinson being able to beat good teams with his arm. I imagine he will be a better thrower, but will he be good enough?

That's a valid argument. It depends more on him than anyone else.

I'l echo this because we've ALWAYS had good, solid TEs up until the Rich Rod Era.

One advantage this year is it being Borges and Robinson's 2nd year together. Borges admitted in his PC that he tried to force too much Pro style on DR last year, and has a better idea how to use him this year.
