IMHO failing a drug test is stupid but he didn't hurt anyone but himself. If he wants to sit out a year, clean his shit up and come back I don't think that would be the worst thing in the world.

The rumor is that if Mathieu goes into some type of drug program that LSU can paint it is given him another chance since he's trying to fix his problem. He doesn't want to play for anything other than a top ten program because if he ends up at some Podunk school, he can kiss his high NFL salary good bye.
