Is our society so skewed with crazy and radical behavior that the Law Enforcement can’t handle the protection of its Citizens. National average responce time for police is 11 minutes.
We talk about the pro and con of Gun control, blame assault weapons, CCW value but the issue is not really about the guns and the lack on knowledge of weapons or those who own guns legally but the spontaneous terrorist acts of violence on the public by disturbed irrational individuals. </SPAN>
I’m one of the first to imply that those act like in movie theater and now in Sikh temple would required a more skilled, prepared and better trained individual than the standard CCW individual to response quickly, proficiently to prevent additional deaths. I’m not sure or confident that I would be able to perform such a task now… but in times of desperation many people can achieve much </SPAN>

But what if there was a another level of CCW. CCWCM (Conceal Carry Weapon Citizen Militia) Private individuals (ex military, ems, police, firer and private citizen ) with their own money and time take the Psychobiological testing that Law Enforcement requires, 4 hours per month range qualification, meeting with local, state and Federal Law Enforcement, and a renewal every 3 years. </SPAN>
Those individual qualified as a CCWCM would be permitted to carry weapons into other areas restricted present CCW registered individuals can go. </SPAN>

In the future will any of us be safe from our own society creation?

Would you or would you not favor such a program?

Cops aren't into solving petty crimes like B&E, they're into solving murders and the like.

Is it overreacting to discuss it? It's no more overreacting than all of the articles that come out asking if it's time to consider gun control every time some crazy comes out. (I love how the media makes it sound like the NRA has americans brain washed into rejecting anything that sounds like gun control. Perhaps we just don't want gun control?)

I would bet the majority of police officers have never solved a murder. (I could be wrong) I think they are more interested in writing speeding tickets and generating revenue.

generally people who commit murders and violent crimes, try to avoid doing those things without the police being around. however, many murders and violent criminals are arrested through traffic violations.

I agree, although I think a good part of the blame is more on lack of funding than actual interest. Don't know how things are all over the state/country, but I'm always hearing about the sheriff's office and other local governmental agencies struggling to keep afloat in my rural area. If tickets = revenue and funding for local government agencies is struggling, the sad reality is that it makes financial sense to focus on speeders, DUIs and other minor league stuff and spend the hours working out the ticket-writing hand.

What an asinine thing to say. It isn't a cops job to solve every little petty thing that comes across their desk. It's a waste of time for them to go after kids breaking into cars when there are murders happening. It's also ludicrous to think that cops have the fancy resources on CSI to catch would-be thieves. Cops aren't going to dust for prints if someone jacks your car stereo.

In small towns where there isn't anything going on, cops are probably just writing tickets out of boredom...not to "generate revenue".
