Good point. To Belly's point the police more or less just clean up the mess and document the crime. They aren't enough police to stop murders or violent crimes from happening so should the people do it themselves?

Agreed, the police can not stop violent crime. I am not sure I am in favor of an organized group patrolling the neighborhood, but I am a part of a "block" watch and if I am home when someone tries to break in they would find themselves on the business end of a shotgun. If I'm not home, I guess they just need to bring something to distract my dog.
