Very impressive year! Must be nice having 32 teams to claim. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio_Capital_Conference

Even w/ 32 teams, it'd still be tough to take on 1v1, 2v2, etc against GCL-S (only 4 teams) and come out on top. For those who don't want to look it up, the GCL-S is comprised of Moeller, Elder, St. Xavier, and La Salle.

No other league in the state can even begin to sniff that kind of record.
How many of those were Westerville Central?

32 teams? That's not a league, that's an entire region.

Field hockey/lacrosse doesn't count. There are like 10 teams that play those sports. Most of which are in your conference anyway

LOL...32 teams...4 divisions...Gotta love the super conference concept. How would you crown an overall champ in Football? Media Poll?

The Ohio Capital Conference or any other wouldn't stand a chance winning 3 of 4 going head to head in Football against the GCL-S

Other than UA what have the other teams in the conference accomplished?

Off the top of my head from last year:

Pickerington Central: Football - DI state runner-up, Basketball - DI state champion
Grove City: Baseball - DI state semifinalist (last 2 years)

UA only won the Swimming and Lacrosse championships from all those listed. The rest were spread out over all 4 divisions of the "real" OCC. For those WH Amish fans planning to drive down in your horse & buggies remember Central has a turf field and we wouldn't want any of your horses to get ill grazing on plastic.

In order to get in and out quickly, I'm willing to bet most will drive cars, since everyone already knows what the blight of urban sprawl looks like:laugh:

on a serious note...scrimmaging against a much larger school is a great move for the Knights.
They have nothing to lose...
If the Warhawks completely annihilate them...it's a humbling experience and good lesson for the start of the regular season
If the Knights look strong...it's a nice confidence booster heading into game 1.

Good luck to both teams and hopefully everybody comes out of it healthy.

The lowly DIII Knights went toe to toe with the juggernaut that is Westerville Central and came away even. Each team scored once during 12 play series to start the scrimmage, then in a simulated 1/2 of play the 2 teams knotted at 14.

Even the lowly JV team from WH ties 1-1 against the conference powerhouse that is the Warhawks.

Good scrimmage for the knights. A tie with Westerville Central in a hard hitting game really showed the boys they can hang. Westerville finished 8-2 and 3rd in Division I region 3 last year. They beat a couple playoff teams in Big Walnut and New Albany. They have a very nice qb that made some great plays with his legs and arm, very fast. Couple of hard running backs.
We competed but still have some work to do. Need to finish tackles better and wrap. Thought the db's did pretty well. The biggest pass completions came on broken plays with the qb scrambling. They stacked the box on us and we were still able to get some nice running plays. The passing game looked pretty good which helped open things up a little. All in all I will take it as a good job overall. Little worried about so many players going both ways. We were looking a little gassed towards the end. Great job tonight Knights, keep it rolling. Also a couple little dings but we came through it pretty healthy.

No. 18 and 45 are a couple of Amish Workhorses for WH. Central was missing no. 1 WR and RB last night but Holmes is a decent team that should kick some ass in their local league.

Triway's scrimmage went alright last night, I guess. We started off really well, moving the ball with ease against Dalton, averaging over 10 yards per play for our first 10 plays, and scoring once to Dalton's none. This continued in the 2nd set of 5 plays, with neither team scoring. Then in 2 quarters of game-like football, the teams finished at 0-0. Dalton turned up the intensity while Triway didn't respond very well. Both teams had big plays called back due to penalties (one was a Dalton TD).

Not sure what to make of it, since we were missing 2 two-year letterwinners/2-way starters - one of our biggest playmakers and the other a two-way lineman. But we got to see some new faces on both sides of the ball. That's what scrimmages are for. We'll definitely have our hands full against West Holmes.

Go Titans!

This game will not be close at all. WH will run the ball at will and just for fun will hit a couple long td passes (short passes with long runs)

^^ Thanks for posting score. I asked our freshman coach how we did, and he just said "We have work to do." Haha.

As for varsity, it all starts tomorrow! Go Titans!

The series goes to West Holmes 6-3, we did not play each other in 2004.

2004 - My senior year, and we did not play our 2 biggest rivals, Orrville and West Holmes. It sucked.

West Holmes wins. Triway scores some. Two good teams or two bad teams?

WH had over 400 yards on the ground and over 500 total offense. Triway had over 300 through the air , but that's all they do is chuck it. WH had way to many penalties and TO's, which allowed Triway to hang around for 3 qtrs. Great road win for WH against the spread O.

Perone was an absolute load tonight, with almost 190 on the ground, and Sr Grant Hay had 150 on the ground.
