There hasn't been a funny woman on SNL in at least 15 years.

Molly Shannon only had one character. It didn't matter what the name of the character was on the skit, she always behaved the same. I couldn't stand her.

Holy crap, how can these lists not include Steve Martin?!

-edit-
Nevermind, I guess he wasn't a part of the cast, but a frequent guest.

^^^ I don't believe Steve Martin was a full-time cast member of SNL. I know he hosted the show many times but I don't remember him being a full-time member. That was long ago so I could be wrong.

I'm surprised nobody included Andy Samberg, the only worthwhile current cast member IMO.

SNL was good in the 70's with Aykroyd, Beluishi, Murray, Curtin, etc. but has SUCKED ever since. I'm amazed it's till on the air.

He didn't imitate him, he was infatuated with him, but I can't remember his name. He was one of the three amigos with Martin and Chase.

I agree on SNL being good in the 70's!

I'm surprised no one mentioned the character who played Pat. I'm guessing it's because they didn't know whether to categorize the actor as a man or a woman.

Kevin Nealon was the best of the Weekend Update anchors. When you have verbal humor combined with his low-key and extremely dry delivery, it pays off.

I also would suggest that anyone who would nominate Colin Quinn be horsewhipped.
