Well, I don't remember Odin promising the end of Ice Giants either...and the picture is more like Thor with how there's the big hammer and how he has both eyes, so I guess both sides have a valid complaint about that meme.FatHobbit;1241569 wrote:When did Jesus promise the end of all wicked people?

I like the equal opportunity theological objection. Actually, when I think of it, Thor was the guy who was always getting in fights with Ice Giants. To the degree that I remember reading those stories and feeling bad for the giants. Most of their stories were along these lines:O-Trap;1241636 wrote:I like the equal opportunity theological objection. Reps.
1. Ice Giants doing their thing.
2. Loki screws something up and has to make things right for them.
3. Norse Gods say "Fuck dat, we don't negotiate with Ice Giants".
4. Thor kills everything.
5. Author completely avoids issue of how Ice Giants themselves really weren't in the wrong, but got screwed over by the combination of a weaselly god who'd promise them anything to get out of a jam and a psychotically violent god who had no problems hammer-bashing anything that annoyed him (and since he woke up annoyed most days, that didn't take much provoking).

I object to the objections...
This is basically a thread about misconceptions and confusion in dogma. The meme is full of all that and covers both mono and polytheistic religions. It sparked confusion and debate. It even sparked an interesting memory lane post on Ice Giants.
I maintain the Thor meme was fitting
