I read where they said there was a guarantee that they would NOT move. If they were to move again, I think the city of Cleveland would implode. Hell, maybe even the whole state, because that'd be a huge FUCK YOU.

+1. You can say a lot of things about Lerner, but you can't say he didn't care. If he only cared about making money, then tickets would not have been as cheap as they are. Unfortunately his caring didn't translate to him making any good hires.

Rushing to hire Mangini/Kokinis was probably the top 10 worst personnel moves by an owner in NFL history.

I never said it was about money. Let's be honest though, he was routinely skipping Browns game to go to Europe to watch soccer and drink tea. Can you imagine any of the top owners doing that? He only has the team because it was his dad's. It would be nice to have an owner that cares about football.

I swear, if this dude sets back what slight progress the Browns have been making under this regime I'll cry.

yup...5-11, 5-11, and 4-12 the last three seasons. Another three years of progress like that and we'll be 2-14.
Any change can't come soon enough!

^ Technically we'd be 3-13.

But you can't argue that the team isn't getting better.

The new owner could spell the end of Heckert/ Holmgren as he will likely bring in his own people. I don't know if that is good or bad.

Why can't you? I think until they PROVE to be better you can most certainly argue it. I think they will be but it's insane to think its a given.

banner is part of the group. i doubt heckert or shurmur would be going anywhere given their ties to the eagles regime under banner. holmgren might be gone but he's basically just a face anyways

I would imagine that H/H would be kept until the end of the season. This will be the end of year 3, so I believe it would be fair to evaluate at that point if the team is headed in the right direction. I don't think it will all be based entirely on W-L record, but a 4 win season after building this for 3 years would be unacceptable.

Banner and Heckert get along just "ok." Not like best buds, just "ok."

Having a more hands on owner will be a good thing. I do think Randy Lerner tried, but he isn't a football guy. Haslam seems like a true fan/owner. I think the move is good for the browns.
