Well, if thread-banning actually fucking works for once this time, he might not be back here on this thread!

Now if I saw an elderly man with a WWII coat on, I would probably get up and offer him my seat, but that is more a product of his age than his status as a veteran. I would also stand for an elderly non-veteran, an elderly lady, a pregnant lady, or someone with an obvious physical disability.

I would be surprised if this guy was an actual veteran. Not to say that I haven't met some real a-holes during my nearly 40 years in the military, but I don't know many that would attempt to capitalize on their status as a veteran in the manner you described.

I obviously appreciate the sacrifices that any veteran has made for their country, but that doesn't entitle them to act like they are superior to anyone else. If anything most veterans are used to sacrifice and would be more likely to give up their seat than expect someone to do the same for them.
I like this one.

ps: Thank you for yor service from a small family is far east Columbus, OH. We appreciate it.

I still can't believe isadore came back after a 1 year ban (Nov. 2010-2011)... the only one to get one that long by far.

Obviously it didn't help, lol

Full blown retard? What isadore is saying, is common sense. What makes him or her a retard? Disagreeing with you guys? I'm a firm believer in two sides to every story. If we knew the other side of this one, it's very possible you all might be looking at this very differently.

Haha what could possibly be the other side? That a one legged, 80 year old war veteran came up to me to ask very politely if I could give up my seat for him?

This guy (and woman) was a white trash, rude, entitlement seeking piece of shit. That's the only side.

I guess that would depend on the inflection in ones voice when they said it. Look, I'm not even suggesting that you were wrong in not giving up your seat. All I'm saying is that isadore made some good points.

In isadore's case, I believe that would be the world of warcraft.

no he would rather turn him down, then come on here and brag about it.

A decent person? "yo let me sit down" is not a phrase that warrants any concern from most "decent" people. Many "decent" people prefer that they be spoken to with respect from a complete stranger.

Why the hell would that ban be lifted?

What isadore is saying is NOT common sense. If he wasn't feeling well, the statement should have been "hey buddy, i'm not feeling well. I would appreciate it if you would let me take your seat to rest." The person being asked to leave their seat shouldn't be expected to be concerned with a complete stranger. The stranger should be able to illustrate his needs in a way people can understand it.

Isadore's point would be fantastic if we lived in some fucking fairy tale land. I don't believe that everyone is a good person. I firmly believe there are tons upon tons of piece of shit out there. Someone saying "yo let me sit down" sounds a lot like a piece of shit.

.

No shit right? "yo let me sit down." "well sure sir, have a seat here's my credit card as well. let me unzip your pants for you and i'll give you nice blow job and then after that i'll get on all fours and be your foot stool."

SportsAndLady;1234904 wrote:So today after work I am trying to catch a Subway home, and of course like every ****ing day I miss the train by a millisecond. It runs every 10-15 min or so.

There are usually like 1 or 2 benches, so I decided to have a seat today since I just missed the train I was the only one there and thus, first dibs on the bench.

After 5 min, it's pretty crowded down there and someone taps me on the shoulder and says to me, "yo, let me sit down."

I looked at this fella, and simply (and politely) said no. And sort of laughed..cuz it was funny to me.

He just stared at me for like 5 seconds and his friend popped out of nowhere and she says to me, "this guy is an American Hero. He was in blah blah blah War in blah blah blah country...blah blah blah" I don't even remember what the hell she was saying, but basically he was in the US Army and was fighting A-Rabs. I simply responded, "I appreciate everything you've done for this country. But that doesn't give you the right to take this seat from me" I said that trying to hold back so much laughter.

The chick called me a **** and he was red in the face and they walked away lol

Most random god damn thing ever...anyone ever face something like this?

tl;dr-crazy war veteran tried to take my bench seat from me. Said no. He left. Ever happen to you?
Just another example of a punk move. Congratulations!
