If Dusty wanted to give Bruce a day off, he should have done it against a lefthander yesterday or Thursday.

John Fay says he thinks they are replacing Votto on the roster with the new pitcher Todd Redmond so he'd be available in case Cueto's blister makes him not pitch too deep into the game. Hopefully after tonight there will be some kind of move made to get a left handed hitter on the roster. Or maybe they will go with what they have and carry an extra pitcher while Votto is out, unless or until they have substantial losses of games.

As far as a lefthanded bat to replace votto........It would only be in a PH role Iw ould think. I think Frazier will do a good job at first base.

Correct, just to replace Votto on the roster, not to replace him in the starting line-up. Need at least one lefty for PH situations. That was needed even before Joey went out.

A rare 3 assist double play where the ball never touched the ground ends the Reds first with just one run, after the potential was a lot higher than that.

Drew Stubbs already getting on and getting a run. Six to midnight already. Hopefully this game doesn't go 4 hours or longer!

Also, how did Stubbs score? Stolen base with a bad throw?

He and Cozart did a double steal on the 2-1 pitch to Ludwick, then on the next pitch, it was a 55' curveball that took a 5 or 6 foot high bounce over the catcher's shoulder for a WP and the run. Then the 1-4-6-3 DP with the 4 and 3 getting the put-outs!

This pitcher is like little league wild. He has some nice stuff but he can't control it at all.

Also I'm glad no pitcher does all that shit this kid does before a start. He will throw his arm out warming up doing that.

Frazier the first batter for the Reds to have two ABs. Each of the first five in the order have one AB and one walk, but only one hit for the entire team, yet 4 runs.

Happens to him on maybe 50% of his strikeouts. I think home plate umps are jealous of his speed.

Cueto gets a zero in the 5th, but it takes 20 pitches with a hanging slider for a double off the wall, and then two walks. Good thing they got that sacrifice out! Rolen for sure didn't want to lose that out having Johnny take it at first on the bunt, even though it looked like they had a very good chance to get the runner at 3rd. But Johnny could have wheeled around and whipped it into LF too.
