I just received an update on today's 7on7 in Kent against Roosevelt and Northwestern. Sounds like early on we dropped a few passes. But then we got hot and were a "firepower" that couldn't be stopped. My source said we won every round we played. That's good to hear. Especially since Northwestern is supposed to be decent this year, and Roosevelt is a much bigger school.

I believe this concludes our 7on7 schedule. Hopefully the kids are itching to get the pads on. I'm excited to see them in live scrimmage. By the way, has anybody gotten a full scrimmage schedule yet? Nobody seems to know. Thanks!

Our only two losses Saturday (one on a last second TD and the other in 5 OT) were to the tournament runner-up and tournament champion, respectively.
I have never in my life read a play-by-play recap of a 7 on 7 where people are actually keeping score and care about winning and losing a passing scrimmage. Seems like a lot of merit being put into a scrimmage IMO

Haha. I'm just excited for the season and wanted something to write about. But please note I called out in the article how 7on7s are not about winning and losing, and how they can have no correlation to regular season results. :) Did you ever read up on Kenton the last few years? They traveled the country playing in national 7on7s like it was the best thing since sliced bread. Heck, there are 7on7 competitions nationally televised on ESPN. Haha.

Our offense can't get much worse than last year (only 13 TDs). We definitely have the weapons back to improve on that. Our line will need to improve. From the sound of it, they've been putting in the work and will be ready. I'm looking forward to our scrimmages!

I've said it before, I'll say it again...the success of the offense sits on the shoulders of the line. Better start practicing to pick up the blitz, because it will be coming early and often.

Running the ball effectively can quell some of that. I am afraid that if they get behind and have to score points, things could get ugly.

Not trying to be negative because I want to see them do well, but there is no substitute for experience and that is the Achilles Heel of that o-line again this season.

Triway fans, anybody hear anything from the 1st week of 2-a-days? I'm excited for our scrimmage this Saturday to see some live action. Also, Titan fans may be interested in the West Holmes/Waynedale/Tuslaw scrimmage Friday, 6PM, at Tuslaw, since we play all 3 schools. I've been going to this scrimmage the last 3-4 years, and it's been pretty good.

Does anyone know who might be our kicker this year? Tarutani was a great kicker last year, but unfortunately our offense didn't give him many opportunities to shine like he was capable.

It was nice getting to see Triway in action last night at Northwestern. I was impressed with our offense! The whole night we appeared able to move the ball pretty consistently. As predicted, our skilled position players did pretty well all night. Also, our offensive line seemed to give Parker time in the pocket to deliver the ball. The problems we had were with our defense, and our D-line. However, we were missing a few players last night, one who will likely be a 2-way starter on the line, who could make a big difference, and another who will be a key contributor in the secondary. It was just the first scrimmage, so we can't take too much from it... still 2 weeks until the first game... but if we can toughen up the D-line and make open-field tackles, I think we can be pretty good this year!

If Triways weakness is up front on "D" and tackling, wek one may be a bit rough with WH running backs.

Looking at this year's updated roster, we have 8 players at or above 185 lbs. Looks like we have 32 players Sophomore-Senior, and 22 Freshmen.

Those numbers are horrible for a school that size. How many of those 32 are sophomores?

Wow, I think all of our starters but 4 weigh over 185lb. Not sure about total numbers but I know our only low class numbers are the juniors with I believe around 6.

Well, it's game week! Go Titans!

I forgot to mention this last Friday... our captains are Kyle Kearney, Lane Drake, and Justen Copley. Congrats to those young men!

And this made my day today when I got home from work:

Looks like you satisfied your wife to be and now she is leaving you and hoping for more of that good stuff on Thursday. Good work Pit. Give her the shocker when she comes home. She will like that!

She does on occasion. But you'd be surprised how many do. Some people haven't called me by my real name in years. One would be ol' Wildy83 among others. LoL

Agree! Saw one on FB earlier, and just had one texted to me. I'm stopping by after work for a closer look. The old scoreboard was the original scoreboard from when Triway football began!
