I have to say I'm shocked that Kip Wells is still in the major leagues. Possibly because he hadn't been since 2009. And hadn't been remotely good since the early 2000s when he had two decent (as in: okay, but not truly good) years with the Pirates.

I'll assume Kip Wells is pitching for the Padres....either that or you just gave us one of the most random posts in a long time.

Well Kip pitching for the Dads makes it far less random. Had he been on the Orioles I would've given much representation.

In the grand scheme of things, I think seeing Kip pitching was just random for me, as I never expected to see his name on the field again. With the Pirates, a few years ago there was a nucleus of young pitchers who never really panned out (Duke, Maholm, Snell, Gorzelanny) because they all were basically the same guy (low 90s fastball, rely on guile and nibbling) and are no longer in the organization. Kip was part of the group before that group with Josh Fogg and another guy or two. Same deal...they never really panned out and faded away.

Ironman knows Dusty perfectly. Gets the lineup dead right.

It is so easy.

Ludwick hits 2 HR....he sits the next day

Ludwick has 3 hits....he sits the next game

Heisey has a 2/3 with 5 total bases and the lone RBI.....tail on bench next game.

The reason is always "matchups"....but after Ludwick's 2 HR game I think we were 1 hit.

Stubbs always plays well after someone else plays his position. He'll go for 2+ hits and 2+ runs....but if not the 0'fer count is better than any current hit streak.

In Corey Patterson's most atrocious season with the Reds 2008.....his average got down to .183 ending at a robust .205....with the .580's OPS

That season he had an 0-19 (which was part of a 1-29) and his best was 0-23.....he never started all the games though....Dusty actually used others and about the AS break he was mainly a defensive replacement.

In case you forgot....in the 18 inning game that ruined Harang CP was 0-8 that game.

Luke Scott snaps his 0-41 streak. I'm betting Stubbs tops it.

Terrible call on the 3-1 pitch to Cozart, but he HRs on the 3-2 pitch. Cozart very rarely doesn't pull the ball.

Ball landed about 2 rows from my buddy at the game he says. Waiting for video to come up so I can find him
