This.
And there you have it...the biggest Navy supporter on the chatter didn't have any problem with it, but on cue...Tiernan needed to make up something so that he could criticize ND. LOL

i remember some major whining some years back when the U piled it on ND.sherm03;1260348 wrote:Putting your second team in with 4 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter is piling on? Sorry man...but in a game where you have to impress poll voters, there is no such thing as piling it on. Are you upset that OSU piled it on Miami? Are you upset that Oklahoma State piled on Savannah? Or are you just showing your bias?

I don't remember that happening. And by that, I mean that I don't remember the U piling it on ND or people whining about it.KnightRyder;1260464 wrote:i remember some major whining some years back when the U piled it on ND.

Faust's last game at ND. Miami definitely ran it up.

We're really discussing scores from 1973 and 1985 right now? You are seriously pathetic.
Notre Dame drove the length of the field with its second/third units and the soon-to-be-backup slot receiver ran the ball in with :39 left.
Ohio State's Dunn ran the ball in with :44 left.
The scores were 50-10 and 56-10. Looks pretty fucking similar to me.
There's no such thing as running it up when the second teamers are in. Fucking stop them. This is FCS football. Pussies.
I 1) haven't heard anyone from Navy say anything about this, and 2) don't remember any bitching when ND won by an even greater margin last year 56-14 (and even scored more points in the fourth quarter last year).

Tell us which team you are a fan of and I'll answer your question. Otherwise, I'm not sure what your point is? You aren't a Navy fan so your butthurt is very odd.

Toby, you make a good point, but for the record, KnightRyder isn't an OSU fan--so your argument may be falling on deaf ears...just sayin'Ohio State's Dunn ran the ball in with :44 left.

I may be wrong but I thought that knightryder said last year he was a Florida State fan? Not sure though.
Anyways, the complaining about this is ridiculous....especially when you look at some of the other scores around college football this weekend (which I have no problem with but if you are complaining about 50-10 there other teams who dropped 50+, 60+, 80+). At least be consistent and bitch about all of the teams who scored a ton and scored late in games rather than singling out one team.

Knightryder is a FSU fan, your'e right ewok.
And I also find it incredibly amusing that sjm has brought up OSU running up the score, twice now, despite Knightryder's avatar as

Hate OSU much sjm?

Thanks for confirming that, S&L.
Florida State beat Murray State 69-3 Saturday and ::gasp:: ran it in for a TD with under 2 minutes left.

LOL. Exactly. If someone doesn't like teams scoring late or blowout scores then be fair and call other teams out for it too. If not, it's pretty clear that you are just picking and choosing a particular team to knock.
The only score that really caught my eye this weekend was the Okie State one but from the highlights I saw they were running the ball so not sure how someone could even complain about that.

College football is a pretty scumbaggy sport, but I don't think you'll ever see a team throwing hail mary bombs up 60 with 2 min left. It's always 3rd, 4th stringers running a basic run play.
I hate the 'QQ' thing

This is true. Especially since I'm sure that every single college back-up, when they get a chance to play, is dreaming of doing nothing more than up-the-middle handoffs because the most important thing to them is making sure no one feels bad about themselves on the other team. Running up the score is not an insult to an academy team. Backing off of them at any point, ever is like spitting in their face.
