I'd say just suck it up and, deal with looking like a stooge for the rest of the day. Then, I'd recommend buying a reversible belt and keeping it at your workspace (in a drawer) in case you forget again, since this is apparently a recurring theme.

I'm sitting at home right now scarfing down some pizza. Actually ... good call! Still, I'd invest in one to keep near your desk. I used to do that with a tie.
