I'm going to get killed for this because A. He's not a real athlete(or player) and B. He's "The King", but Richard Petty is the most overrated driver in NASCAR history.

He is the best center is the NBA right now but this is the worst era in the NBA for centers. If he played in The 90s against guys like Hakeem Ewing Robinson and shaq he would get abused. He has zero post moves and he can't face up against a defender to get a bucket. His defense is great but he's missing part of the game and even them they just match up to shaq a d Ewing. He has zero touch near the rim. Have you seen him try to lay it up or shoot a hook shot. They ricochet every direction. He is a good big men but not great.Do a simple google search and you will find 100's of articles saying the same thing.

Dwight is absolutely overrated and he's a whiny bitch. I'd take Varejao over him.

Also; "Offensively, Howard's fingerprints are everywhere, too -- not just with the dunks, but with the fouls he draws that put opponents in the bonus and hand his teammates easy freebies, and the clean 3-point looks that come without his ever touching the ball. It's not always pretty, but it's hugely valuable."

Dwight's a fine player, he needs a little help in the PR department.

heres another article that basically says exactly how i feel about howard

Dwight Howard: No you do not need contacts Dwight Howard is overrated, vastly! The argument everyone will make here is the same, he has won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award three times in a row. He has been All NBA first team three years in a row. He has dominated the paint like no other the past few years. My generation will use his stats as a crutch to say he is the greatest center of all time, well he is not. Dwight is the beneficiary of playing in the NBA when the league is dominated by guards. For the first time in league history the game does not have great big men who change the game. The past four decades all had one thing in common, multiple big men who were dominate and played the center position. Should we punish Dwight for dominating against guys like Andrew Bogut and Al Jefferson? Not sure, maybe. All I know is we will never know how great he is because he plays against the weakest era of centers in NBA history. When you look at the 90′s you had David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon and Alonzo Morning. Now you have Al Horford and Tyson Chandler!? Dwight Howard to me is that kid in middle school who is to slow to be in regular classes but to smart for sped classes. Dwight would be a solid center in any other era, but in today’s era he is considered great.

He has no touch anywhere near the rim. If he developed one or two post moves he could one of the greatest ever. His offensive right now is the Dunk and thats it. Instead he dominates the league during a time when the other centers are weak. He also is a terriable passer and has a low basketball iq. He turns over the ball a lot. He could be a Shaq type of offensive player. Instead look at his numbers. In 2010 he put up almost the exact same stats as David Lee of the Knicks. Is David Lee a Superstar? He has done nothing in the postseason but is always being hyped. You cant give the ball to Hoard with the game on the line because you can just hack him. I dont want my superstar to be a liabitliy on offense with the game on the line. Other strong centers like Kendrick Perkins or Bynum can play Dwight one on one with no problem. BTW I'm not the only one who thinks this. Here are a few NBA writers saying exactly what I am. Glad to know you know nothing about the NBA and buy into the hype that comes with Howard.
