He was killin' us in the 1st half on the defensive end! Every time he'd come in they'd start making a run. Great road stretch for Cleveland going 3-1 against 4 decent to great teams including 3 playoff teams. Ended two 10+ home game winning streaks and the role players stepped it up huge. Mo Williams was excellent this road trip, I just pray to god he shows it in the playoffs.

Kobe's teammates did show up. They just never had a shot without a Cavalier in their face. Neither did Kobe. He scored his points on like 35 shots or whatever it was.
This is the defense they need to play in the playoffs. It was a nice win, but the regular season means nothing for this team. They have to do this in the playoffs.
This is why we can't trade Shaq. Even if he sucks against all of the bottomfeeders, we need his size against the Lakers front line and Dwight Howard.

Yep, just another case of why Shaq is important against the playoff teams. People get their panties in a bunch when he plays like crap against a Chicago or Milwaukee, but he wasn't brought in for them. I'll take his 11 and 7 along with solid defense and getting the Cavs onto the FT line quicker in the quarters.

Yep. Shaq showed again what happens when he's motivated and when he's playing in the kind of game he was brought in to help us out in. That's the attitude he'll bring to the playoffs. Like devil said, he doesn't give a shit about games against Chicago, etc. Why should he? I just don't understand people saying he's a bust already--the organization made it clear why they brought him in.

2quik, that was me who stated Mo needs a big game. Everytime he comes up big Cleveland will win. He has hit 20+ 3 games in a row for 3 wins, he scored 8 against Dallas in a loss.devil1197 wrote: Why does Howard look pissed? That is pretty cool.

I saw them on the floor--they showed up. Just give the Cavs credit for great defense. It was the best game they played all year as a team, on both ends of the court. Shaq stepped up and played very well tonight. As did the whole team. Other than Z being a tad off on his set shot, everyone played really well.
Cavs overcome a psychological barrier today...in blowing out the Lakers on their home court.
Won't have to listen to Cav fans cry about not matching up with anyone...blah..blah...blah...like a broken record last year.

It was the clear reason for their struggles in the playoffs last year. Just stating the obvious. We won't cry about that at all this year--like we all agreed before, we solved those problems in the offseason. You could see it pretty clearly today, last year's team couldn't have handled this Laker roster. He was traded to Cleveland to go against Bynum, Howard, Perkins etc of all the good teams. Along with Parker and Moon for their defensive effort and making it tough.
The only thing the Cavs are missing is a real scoring 4 because JJ has been decent but he cannot create his own shot at all. It's either an easy lay up or dunk off a pass.

The Lakers made the mistake of not doubling him. It's hard to do with the shooters the Cavs have and of course LeBron--but even in his old age, you still have to double him or he'll get himself to the front of the rim. He's still got that ability, he just isn't as good at finishing as he once was. I still disagree, and you can't just look at defensive perspective. Lakers D was horrible today, and generally, the overall effort wasn't there.
