Avett Brothers? This is a pretty good song. Good harmony and writing. I've heard them a few times at my local bar, but never sat and sat and listened even tho several people have recommended them.

What does the OC think of them? My guess is they're played out here; old news. Am I right?

My take is they're pretty talented and make good music, but they seem full of themselves. Like "we are so deep, listen to how poetic we are"...the bearded one mainly. Liking them seems trendy and too much of them would get annoying. I could be totally off base with my opinion tho.

I enjoy the Avetts brothers. I do agree with you on the "trendy" part of it.
Makes good artists less interesting.

I love the avett brothers. Their live shows are amazing as they really speed up their music live. I got to see them at bonnaroo in the pit and had a blast. I really enjoy kick drum heart and I and love and you. I wouldn't say their trendy. They have been doing this type of music for way longer without the recognination or credit that Mumford and sons get. Although they are way more popular in the southeast. I also saw them at the lc in Columbus and it was only about half full.

Good info. Thanks for posting. I've heard I and Love and You. Just once at the bar and then today on YouTube.

First time I've seen or heard of them. I really liked that song. Definitely have to check out some more of their stuff.

Kind of hard to explain. Sort of like a bluegrass James Taylor. If this dude wanted to start a cult, I think he could do well.

I like these guys. They are local to my new city of Charlotte. One of the few acts to make it out of our pathetic local music scene. I think Scott Avett (bearded one) is also a pretty good painter and had a couple galleries around town feature his work.

Based on what I've heard, they sound much more like Neil Young. This song does anyway.

I and You and Love sounds heavily influenced by the Counting Crows. The piano is very similar to A Long December.
