Is this the new Disco.
I cant stand this music. Skrillex sounds like a metal workshop class. The kids who listen to this seem more interested in x then they do music?
Any one actually like this music.

I like some, more traditional dubstep.

Most people who like it are either students at OU, "hipsters" or deaf.

lol did you just generalize a music (I use that term loosely) genre to an entire college?Trueblue23;1204078 wrote:Most people who like it are either students at OU, "hipsters" or deaf.
I know zero people from OU who enjoy dubstep. Actually one guy I know likes dubstep, but he's a gigantic fucking douche and was an athlete

I played these 5 songs a while back at a party, I was told to play Skrillex or I would get my ass kicked. I said fuck this and left. Here are the songs.

Decent Dubstep does exist, most of it is complete ass and is taken over by Brostep. I like House, Trance, Hardstyle, etc. Not dubstep.

Check the UKF music channel on youtube. Mostly UK based stuff. I'm into the more chill/downtempo dub. Sukh Knight is one of my favs.
Like all music, there is some good, some bad. In general I'm growing a bit tired of it....the same sounds are just getting old.

I love UFK's channel. If it wasn't for that, I would have never found, Feel So Close (Nero Remix)-Calvin Harris.Automatik;1204153 wrote:Check the UKF music channel on youtube. Mostly UK based stuff. I'm into the more chill/downtempo dub. Sukh Knight is one of my favs.

Can someone post an example of Brostep? I am unfamiliar with that genre.

Skrillex, Rusko, etc. It's basically the term that OG dubstep producers came up with to clown on what the genre became. Most of it has that ridiculous over the top distorted wobble bass.OneBuckeye;1204483 wrote:That is a good tune.

Ehhh, its debatable and subjective. I like most of his stuff though.The_Crosby_Show;1204543 wrote:People like to tell me Nero is brostep, fuck no he isn't.
I've been listening to Mt. Eden lately. My sister lives in Colorado, they have a huge bass music scene there. She's always giving me new stuff to check out.

True it's debatable but a lot of his stuff doesn't have a wobble like a lot of dubstep artists.Automatik;1204552 wrote:Ehhh, its debatable and subjective. I like most of his stuff though.

I've been on a Daft Punk kick lately, that's all I've listened to the past 2-3 weeks.
