Last night out of no where she mentions to me that it would be nice to have a sport car.
Not for her but for me … Like she giving me permission to buy a sport car.
I have no desire for a sport car at this point. Never mention anything about a sport car.
But she explained that she would like to take trips to Chicago and weekend short trips in something less costly to drive as my truck or her Accord. OK
What the guidelines I ask? 2 Seats and Convertible and must be dependable….. Really
What is the price range you’re thinking we should spend ? I figure this would trip her up .. $12,000 to $16,000 she said. …. I was a little shocked at that reply
Bottom line is she wants a sport car but not a collector item, something that can be driven, dependable and not concerned about potential damage but still classy …
Here my first list:
TR6 ………….I was going to buy one when I was in high school
Sunbean Alpine Tiger .. I had an Alpine for a few months when I was young, stupid and care free.
Morgan…. Don’t think I could find a Morgan that is dependable
Corbra ... out of the question
I was never a big sport car fan more of the Detroit Iron 64 GTO, 64 Chevy, 71 Dodge Charger or 69 Cuda ….
So help me out OC any suggestion or comments?

TR6, nice. I grew up around restored Triumphs, my dad had a TR4, a GT6 and finally a '58 TR3A. Weren't reliable (from what I remember) but were fun cars, head turners.

How would it be less costly to drive than an Accord? You going to get a Prius convertible? Never heard of a Corbra.
