Zwick that nice but I'm sure that a 12-16,0000 limit the wife has suggested is not going to touch this car.

Really depends do you really want it for being "sporty" or just cruising with no top.

The s2k and Miata are a lot more sporty than a stock old convertable Mustang.

Remember one of your requirements is being reliable, so that omit's older Jaguar's, MG's or Triumphs. An older Brit' made car most likely would break down twice on the long haul to Chicago....

(edit) If sticking with it must be an older American car, I like Zwick's pick. Older 'stang convertable probably would be a winning choice.

I'm beginning to agree maybe something in a older American Iron .... I like that idea ... price could be a issue at 12-16K

The S2K i posted on the last page was 14k... good luck finding old merican iron for that price.
