Wouldn't you rather live in a world where opinions were irrelevant and evidence was paramount? Given the evidence, which is zero, religion shouldn't even be on the map.

Sleeper, the problem with your Utopian aspiration is that you assume what should be and should not be accepted as proof. To validate a fact, we appeal to a certain epistemological model, which is good. The problem arises when we then try to validate that epistemological model's authority without reasoning circularly. At such point, we virtually have no basis for assuming the superiority of one epistemological model over another, because in order to do so without subjectivity, we'd need to appeal to something that supersedes it which grants it the superiority.

Logic, thus, does not permit the blind assumption of one model for proof being necessarily superior.

Yeah, I don't know that it's JJ-level modding when people are attempting to at least be philosophical and cool while discussing what easily can become a bitchfest issue and someone starts making wildly exaggerated comments just to stir the pot and turn things into that bitchfest. I'm not religious and don't particularly care for it, but comparing it (with the exception of particular sects/groups/cults) to Nazis is basically like saying "Fuck having rational talk, LET'S FIGHT!!!"
