After 6.5 innings and Verlander was out of the tie game it looked like the Reds had the advantage, but the Tigers' early season maligned bullpen gave up no runs in 3 innings while the Reds' early season stellar bullpen gives up the game winner in two innings. Reds missed their chance in the 7th vs. the wild pitcher.

So it is back to needing games 1 and 3 to win the series, after some hope of stealing this one from the MVP and the Tigers and going for the sweep tomorrow. Instead it's the rubber game on Sunday night, Smyly vs. Bailey.
