No. Cancer kills people. Romney closing your husband's factory 7 years earlier causes cancer. Duh!

Well, at least Obama is no longer pretending to have a clue about economics. But obviously this kind of talk plays well with his base.

Gee wilikers, Betsy! We're back in the 50's, where Mitt and his followers want to return. The place where every man was king of his castle (provided he came from the right side of the tracks) and the lower classes of society knew their place and didn't question it. Little wonder that so many angry white Republicans want to "take back our country".

LMAO, none of these people have been starving or unable to get food since the Great Depression. You've obviously never been behind someone at the grocery store buying with food stamps - they eat quite well, and have money left over for beer and cigarettes. I'm all for providing food for the needy, I just don't think it needs to be filet mignon.

Off-Topic:

the worst is when someone grabs an item they can't buy with the SNAP card and there's a big hassle Couple weeks back a woman on SNAP grabbed a block of cheese but it had been sliced in the packaging. Apparently, you can only get the block of cheese that hasn't been sliced. One of the clerks ran back to get the right block but accidentally grabbed another one that was sliced! It was then finally that I think they figured out that it couldn't be sliced. This whole ordeal took like 15-20 minutes and I'm squeezed between the food stamp lady and two uppity Soccer moms giving her the stank eye and making welfare cracks, etc. I'm thinking "I'll buy the damn sliced cheese for you ma'am if you'd just get me the fuck out of this."

Well you swerved into why conservatives and libertarians are who they are: The government of the United States of America is deciding in YOUR LOCAL supermarket what kind of cheese people are allowed to buy. Mayor Nanny Bloomberg is right up there dictating what type SIZE of drink people can buy. What damn business is it of a government to micromanage people's lives in such a despicable way? Ditto for the Dept of Education dictating in YOUR LOCAL town or village what they can teach, how they can teach it, how many union teachers it takes, how much money they'll extort if YOUR LOCAL town or village doesn't cooperate, blah blah blah.

Can they GTFO of our daily lives for chrissakes?

I mean, if the taxpayers take it upon themselves to provide this person with cash to pay for food, I don't think it's totally unreasonable to stipulate that if the person is going to buy cheese with the card, they should buy the cheaper cheese that hasn't been pre-sliced...

When a person applies for SNAP, they're inviting the taxpayers into their life in some way.

Gosh a ruddies, you romniacs would love to roll us back to 1932. Gosh the way romniacs begrudge the needy any small pleasure in life and try to cut as many strands as you can from the safety net.

As Ronny used to say, "there you go again". Government meddling begets government regulations, red tape, dictates, mandates, ad infinitum. This is where conservatives and libertarians differ with the Nanny-gang. You know, if they just gave them the cash on a SNAP card and let them spend it, the bureaucracy wouldn't have anything to do....and THAT is what it's all about - control over individual's lives.

So let me get this straight; you're upset that the government is trying to save the taxpayers some money and ensure social insurance is spent wisely.

Nice twist of the subject. You got that technique down pat. Saul would be proud of a good student. :) However, you haven't quite gravitated to the part where I'm the mannequin and you get to speak for me.

Here's MORE government intrusion....into a friggin hot dog stand!! http://www.theblaze.com/stories/13-year-old-and-family-behind-mi-hot-dog-stand-now-homeless-and-govt-regs-continue-to-strain-income/

How bout this one: In Virginia, you need a permit to have a birthday party on a farm! AND farmers need special permits to sell their food to Americans. Whatever happened to, "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"? Hollow words these days, eh? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=1e7Mwjf-QPI

They're entitled to food, not necessarily good food. You want to eat steak, go out and earn it. I work to earn my small pleasures, and so should everyone. But that's how the system works, but as with any charitable act a "thank you" goes a lot further than bitching about how it's not enough.

I mean, should we really have to pay more to feed someone on welfare vs. someone in prison? Staying out of jail should entitle someone to better free food? @$16/wk for an inmate. The individual SNAP benefit is up to 3X this amount (almost as much as the average American, who has a job and buys all their own food).
