It is fun to watch how bad he makes opponants look. He is just plain nasty.
He reminds me so much of randy johnson. WHen Randy was on...he made guys look damned foolish, and then you started to see even good left handed hitters have a "day off" that coincided with The Big Unit pitching.
I cannot wait to see him in the rotation and him making guys look foolish for 5-7 innings a game. I think he would be an amazing closer as well, but if I had to choose I always think a starter is more important. As a starter the team has to feel extremely good of their chances each and every time that he starts. He would shut down teams most games for 5-7 innings and give the reds time to get and build on a lead. He is doing amazing in his role now, but it is just an inning, usually when the team is ahead, tied or maybe down one. I just think this team wins a very high percentage of his starts.
and to think of the walk up crowds when he is starting....

If he ever starts he will throw a no-hitter within that first season. At least one.

He has the stuff to throw no no's, but I doubt he does the first season.
He is such a power pitcher. Even in games when he "takes a little off" of his fastball he is 95-96 and gets alot of swing and misses and foul offs.
His pitch count will get up there that I dont think he would have any CG's. Now maybe next year when they would take the baby gloves off he would be able to but doubt this year he would.
He makes guys look absolutely clueless.

Reds up 4-0. Nevermind that Dusty has the .316 hitting Hanigan batting 8th while Ludwick bats 6th.

guess no one cares about this game.
They had the Creeper on the radio for a bit....doesnt do very well on the radio.
Latos seems to ahve been pitching better ever since he got out of a first inning bases loaded jam a start or two ago.

I actually didn't even know it was an afternoon game until like the 3rd inning.thavoice;1174491 wrote:guess no one cares about this game.

Dusty just loves to leave his pitchers in too long. If you have Arredondo, Ondrusek, Chapman, and Marshall in your pen, there is absolutely no reason to let a laboring pitcher stay in the game.

Dusty had Latos at 92 pitches at the start, sure enough a walk and a hit. Will be interesting to see if Reds get out of this one.

HUGE strikeout by Hoover.
Let's play add-on now against the worst bullpen in the NL.

On the first pitch of the at-bat. Just like both of his HRs last night.se-alum;1174526 wrote:Frazier with a leadoff double.

I actually like the strategy by Dusty to have Chapman face the meat of the order in the 7th.

Shockingly, Stubbs fucks up a sliding catch in Center. Chapman gives up his first run of the year.

Chapman run was unearned, of course.

Glad Luddy got the start. Heisey only raised his average 50 points in 3 games....no need to play him as much as Mr. Eight Years Ago I was good in front of Pujols.

Reds had chances in nearly every inning and squandered them. Votto trying to tag up from 3rd and score killed us.
