Dude. Teachers lounge and relax all summer. Didn't you know?

This sounds more like what the majority of the teachers I know do.

I want a summer off :(

My last summer off was between my junior and senior year of highschool...From that point on I took college classes every summer and worked part time, and now I work full time.

My work is announcing some sort of 'flex time' this week for 3 months...I'm guessing it will be a way to work strange hours (like come in eary and leave early) or to work 4 days per week...I'm planning on participating in whatever it is.

I worked saturdays for 15 years and I have found myself getting "bored" with the extra time off on weekends. It is getting better tho..finding stuff to do, but at first I would get all my stuff I wanted to get done and it was saturday afternoon.

Hell..with no internet, no cable my dad was outside pretty much all day every day in the summer. The school year was a breeze compared to all the stuff he did in the summer..

I would like to have one summer off. Couple of years ago I took 2.5 weeks off of work before I was leaving for Ft Benning. Even though I had alot to tend to before I left I found myself getting pretty bored without having to go to work.

When I had summers off in undergrad I put in my 40 hours managing the local pool then drank on my porch.

Now I'm in professional school and I get this summer off and I will be researching diabetic neuropathy.

Getting old sucks.

Apparently I answered this question incorrectly. I get the summer off from my normal duties, but I fill it with other shit. Fuck me right?

Its been 21 years since I have had a summer off. I lost my job back in February and been doing construction work ever since. Seriously thinking about taking a month off and just do some fishing and watch a few reds games. Been taking some classes to get certified in a few areas such as boilers and electric. They will be over end of june so thinking July might be the month I take off.

I have summers off as a student. I work but right now I'm in Hawaii. Pretty much just work and hang out in the summers.

No, but since I can request a day off whenever, I take a lot of vacations in the summer. Work is slower and more relaxed. So its the time to do it.

Taking 5 week/weekends off this summer:
-Vegas (Bachelor Party)
-Tybee Island (college friends, for a week)
-DC
-Cottage, Northern Michigan.
-Charlotte (though I may mix this trip with Tybee Island, and just take 12 days off).
