$10 says with the enforcement of the new rules, the Basement will become the new "Serious Business".
There is only a matter of time before you receive 2 warnings, thus giving you the ability to only post in the basement. After 2 warnings, you might as well just start posting here to continue threads even after you've been "banned". Notice what happened to the politics forum when you went all LJ on it? It died, with only a marginal amount of posts from a very small group. If anyone wanted to talk about politics they would simply post it in serious business. That is what will happen with this forum, I guarantee it.
Judging by the already stringent and overwhelming over-the-top moderation after only a short period of time, my prediction will come true.
Book it.

I will also predict the forums will become slightly more violent and out of control since the basement is "anything goes". Thus, negating any benefit this forum has in the long run.

Is the alternative (this site being shut down) better than following a few simple rules?
As others have said, you can still say anything you want....it just has to be in the basement though.
