Watching Baseball Tonight, and they had this question. If you were watching, dont give away the answer. I got 3 of the 4.

Name the 4 players who have hit a HR in 4 different decades.

Rickey might be one since he started his career in 1979.

I think Ty Cobb would also be possible.

If it was on baseball tonight, I am going to guess a current player and I think Vizquel is the oldest position player and might have started his career in the 80's.

Rickey is correct, Viquel (has not hit a HR in the 2010's) and Cobb wrong.

My first thought was Junior. But he only played in 3 decades.

Yep.

Its Little O, Teddy Ballgame, McCovey and Rickey Henderson.

Williams and Henderson were easy, imo, McCovey was a correct guess, and I was wrong on Harmon Killebrew (had no clue when he started or ended his career lol). I missed Omar, but when it was said it was kind of a duh. Only cause Ive looked at his stats so often, I knew he started in 89 and is still playing...

Either way, correct.

I had orginally guessed McCovey, Rickey, Teddy and Killebrew. They only have 1 commercial break between question and answer so I didnt even have time to look them up. But I doubt Omar would have entered my head anyway.

Griffey played in 4 decades. Started sometime in the late 80s and retired early in the 2010 season.

He only played two games in 1969. A lot of the people you would think of (Rose, Yaz, Mays) had their start near the beginning of a decade.

Still would've guessed it....knew he played in 4 decades....Tim McCarver and Bill Buckner barely made it I think.....not sure Buckner had any at bats in the 60's....but got in some games.

153 in the 1990's
270 in the 2000's

How many of those are the result of stolen signs from runners at second base I wonder?
