Myself and the moderators would like to personally apologize to vball for inconveniencing him while we figure out in the background the best way to start cleaning up the other forums on here. We're in the process of making sure all the personal attacks and garbage stay in the basement. You know, where they belong since, you know, that is why I created this forum. We let things get out of control and the inmates have been running the asylum. We'd like to apologize in advanced for not taking away any ability to be assholes but just moving towards limiting it to one spot. We are so sorry to have ruined your day. So sorry.

Hold on there, boss man-I've been an advocate of cleaning up the shit on here just as much as you. I've watched some mods stand idly by while personal attacks are made left and right on various forums, and I've also read where posters are mocked because they report posts--and then you pull a harmless, stupid thread like this down here and say it's full of personal attacks. In all seriousness, this thread should be in the basement. Although, I would argue since no one comes down here, the only way to get a thread the attention it needs is to start a thread in serious business so that it builds a following before it ends up in the forum it belongs to.
For example, take politics before LJ finally stopped wanting to be a power hungry bitch, people would just start a thread in serious business because it would take less time to get moved to the politics forum then it would to get approved.

And we've been discussing the best way to go about cleaning stuff up on the backend. Like I said, I apologize for finally taking steps to clean things up. We let things get out of control. We realize this. It doesn't mean we can't take steps to change the place to make it more inviting for others. It's either this or I give up and shut the site down.

Bottom line, I'm ready to get serious about making the site grow. It isn't going to happen if we don't clean it up. I don't think it's going to be too much to ask to keep being an asshole to one forum. We're not taking that "right" away from anyone. Just trying to keep it in one spot.

I don't think there's anyone here against the idea of cleaning up the forums.
