Pack lunch, school lunch favorite

I puked up a school lunch Corn Dog the second week of my 2nd grade year. I vowed to never eat school food again. For the rest of my elementary school life (thru 8th grade), I got a grape jelly sandwich, a fruit (orange, apple, or banana), and a small bag of chips (from those ten pack lunch size boxes). And I got those things in my bad ass Avengers lunch box for several years. Walked home for lunch when I got to high school and had IGA deli chicken virtually every day.

Chili day was my favorite in Elementary. High school we had an ala carte line that we could get pizza, subs, chicken sandwiches, etc...would only eat the actual lunch occasionally on taco salad day.

I never packed my lunch. I seemed to always enjoy the school lunches.

I stopped packing my lunches very early, maybe after kindergarten.

I liked the school pizzas. Chili day was good, we got string cheese with ours! No doubt about it though, my favorite was country fried steak, mashed potatoes (the fake ones), roll, and corn. I loved those days. I typically drank a carton of 2% milk, but when I got to high school I traded that in for some Fruitopia!

Thursdays in elementary school were french toast stick day, and damn they were delicious.

In HS Tuesdays were pizza day, they would bring in Pizza Joe's (big square pieces) and the snack bar would sell fresh giant chocolate chip cookies for a dollar. Always my favorite day.

I still eat cafeteria food...some of us are still taking college courses (SUCKS!).

Here, they have buffalo chicken meltdowns -- chicken patty with buffalo sauce and ranch. They are unbelievably good. I also enjoy a helping of deep-fried ravioli.

Our elementary school would serve stewed tomatoes I was never a fan, but you had to eat them all before you could head out to recess.

Mind over matter. I had some ass to kick in dodgeball or Red Rover.

In Middle School my lunch consisted of Grippo Bar-B-Que chips and chocolate milk.

Love Pizza Fridays in HS. I don't miss eating yogurt or salad with no dressing my freshman year during wrestling season. Oh and drinking grapefruit juice with it.

Best item in my packed lunch growing up = gushers (could also be substituted with fruit roll up or fruit by the foot).

Ah, yes. Wrestling season. Where my lunch was one apple (or orange) and a little thing of fruit juice. Every fucking day. For three months or so. While staring at everyone else and their burgers, fries, pizzas, etc. and drooling like Pavlov's dog.

That's probably not true. He just wanted to point out he was a varsity athlete. As for school lunches, none of them jump out as being that delicious, but they were tolerable. The pizza was probably the best.

I can not believe I have not seen anyone mention Pizza Bobs. Did anyone else have them? I have seen restaurants call the "Italian grilled cheese." I would get an extra with my lunch and not eat the other stuff. I have tried to duplicate, but none have been as good as the ones in school.

My mom packed my lunch till about high school. Always got peanut butter and jelly, some kind of chips, swiss cake rolls and another snack. High school I typically did it myself or bought lunch. Fiestadas was a big thing on friday's.

When I packed, I always had two turkey sandwiches with lettuce and mustard, a bag of chips/pretzels/or Doritos, and a can of pop.

In high school, Wednesday was cheese stick day. If you didn't get to the cafeteria early enough, the line was forever long and you were fucked. I always got two orders of cheese sticks and two rolls on Wednesday. The rolls were gigantic and really buttery. To this day, they are the best rolls I've ever eaten.
