At least Bush wasn't black.

Reasons to support government regulation and unions to counterweight these predatory institutions. They have no interest in benefiting our nation or its citizens. And are often run by people who are most interested in their own benefit package and showing short range profit than even in the interests of their shareholders.
When people begin to realize that their paychecks are not determined based on generosity of souls as opposed to bringing value to their employer they will begin the process of improving the potential for financial gain in their own lives...if that's what they seek. If they don't, then it really doesn't matter.

when people realize the soulless nature of business they will understand the need for regulation and unions.

I thought they already do. Isn't that why regulations and unions exist?

Business can be very soulless. relying on the protection of regulation and unions, however, will not help those get more. In fact, the strength of regulation and unions has done nothing but push business to those areas of the world that do not have as much regulation and unions.

:laugh:Then why does non-union Fedex cost more to ship than union UPS? Come on unions also have the highest skilled employees as far as skilled trades in this country. The reason the Big 3 failed was because they agreed to pensions that were unsustainable and didn't train their workers to the same level as Toyota. Now that the bar has been very highly raised in those factories the Big 3 are creaming Toyota once again

Also most union employees don't get raises if the company goes through a hardship. Look at many teachers and public employees, they're actually seeing cuts in their wages and benefits. However isn't it fair that if production raises so should raises? I've gotten raises at work consistently but also I've seen my workload grow with that

If the product is not worth much, use UPS. They are more likely to leave it on the porch while Fedex will ask for a signature. Many eBay sellers comment goods are damaged more frequently using UPS.

Not at all. You know how many signatures they've gotta ask for each day?

Hopefully soon, none. We're subsidizing a dying industry.

And no, I never signed for a package from the USPS. Never.
