If he sucks ass in year two, fire away. I think you're going to be disappointed though in that he'll be a CLEAR upgrade over Pussy Boy McCoy. It'll just kill you to see him if he plays well as it's blatantly clear that you're one of those guys who doesn't care about winning, just being "right." You'd prefer thay BLOW in HOPES of getting another pussy QB in Sanchez, I mean Barkley, further prolonging this agony.

Why? Everyone said he is NFL ready, RIGHT NOW. Little Pony wasn't, also Little Pony didn't get a pass after his first 16 games.

Ummm, you don't draft a TWENTY NINE year old QB and expect him to be pretty good by year 2. If Andy Dalton can have the kind of year he had last year, our 29 year old 1st round draft pick can certainly have a year like that as well.

p.s. this has nothing to do w/ McCoy. I have NEVER said McCoy will be good or this team's answer at QB. Read what I said...I have never been big on McCoy. I'd just rather they used the 1st round pick on another need, taken the 2-14 season instead of the 7-9 season, then drafted an actual franchise QB in '13 instead of another 2nd rate (Quinn, McCoy, Weeden) that will lead this team nowhere.

Nope, he'll lead us to the playoffs by year 2 or 3 though. And they'll be playoff contenders every year from then on. See, we can afford to have a shitty season when our rookie QB isn't 30 fucking years old.

A reach for Weeden at 22 ...a reach for Schwartz at 37....a real reach for Hughes at 87...and that's 3 out of your 1st 4 picks.

I'd have rather seen the team draft the best player available at every spot and rebuild the overall talent on this team, and then target individual spots in year 2. For as far as this team is going to go next year, McCoy would have been a serviceable QB. I think Weeden was a pick we could not afford.
Just IMO....I'm hoping I'm wrong.

I think Ross Tucker said it best this morning when he said "when 'grading' a draft, all of the analysts say "great job" when a team takes all of the "known names" with their picks but if you take a few unheard of guys your draft basically sucks (in their eyes)."

Now the Hughes pick WAS a total headscratcher. I get that they needed a DT for the rotation, just wasn't thrilled WHERE it was taken. If guys like Weeden, Schwartz, etc pan out nobody will be "reminiscing" about how bad it was "where" they were taken. As is, I can see 5 contributors, at a minimum, right off the bat.
