Why wasn't Kobe suspended for his foul in the first round series?

Because he's a star.

Yeah. A push off is one thing. But blatant flagrant fouls are another ball game.

Stick a fork in the Lakers. They have no chance. Kobe doesn't have a prime Shaq or Gasol to carry him to a championship this year.

You guys don't get it, the NBA is a star driven league. No one wants to watch games with role players on the floor and the stars on the bench in foul trouble, the ratings would be horrible. The superstars drive this league, and there aren't that many of them.

Then get rid of the foul out rule. Don't compromise the integrity of the game by not calling a foul based on who commits it.

You said the same thing during the Nuggets series.

I'm not saying I disagree with any of the points, it just is what it is. These guys have some diva in them, they have been stars since they were young and the "man" since high school or before. Nothing is going to change, if they are aggressive they are going to get the whistles.

I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is, Lakers are done. Kobe will never win another ring unless he joins the Cavs at the tail end of his career.

I know you said you don't necessarily agree with what you just said (just pointing that that's the way it is), but that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You call fouls when it's a foul. Shouldn't matter if it's a superstar, star, good player, role player, or scrub. If the stars are on the bench in foul trouble, that's basketball. Not calling fouls on superstars isn't basketball.

It may be stupid, and we all don't agree with it, but that's the way it is. The league has less than 10 superstars imo. They aren't going to be on the bench in foul trouble, especially during the playoffs. It probably will never change, it has always been that way. All about $$$.

Lakers can win this series, they just have to play THEIR game. No way they win running up and down with OKC, must keep it in the half court.

You honestly think if Wade got suspended for his shoulder check last night, that the ratings would take a dive?

James Harden does the same move to the basket every time, starts one way and always cuts back across to the other hand.

I think that people want to see stars perform, and they can't do that if they aren't playing.

but F it, thats the way the leagues gonna be from now on out. Id rather watch a game where players dont get favoritism this blatantly but thatll never happen with Stern at the helm

Well that is the logic behind the whole thing, can't really say anything more than I already have on it.

Or even if they get favoritism on drives where they get to go to the line id be borderline okay with that. But when stars make dirty plays like Kobe and like Wade, it shouldnt matter who the hell you are. You should get disciplined for that

Fans want to see a lot of things, doesn't mean they should change the game to satisfy them.

Yeah I'm sure all 7 Miami fans aren't going to watch if Wade gets a game for being a total d-bag.

People want to see stars perform, they want to see them do the amazing because they are capable of it. Only hard core fans of the game really care about seeing role players and watching the intricacies and nuances of the game.
