Josh Smith is in his like 9th year in the league, Griffin his 2nd. Josh Smith is a very good player, but also an enigma. He takes horrendous shots. This is the first year in his career he has actually taken on responsibility and been a leader and played hard.2kool4skool;1165646 wrote:What's better: Griffin averaging 21 and 11 with awful defense, or Josh Smith averaging 19 and 10 with great defense?
I'm also not convinced Smith wouldn't average more points than Griffin if you switched their teams.
To me, Griffin is a Josh Smith caliber player. Nothing more, nothing less. Is he a very good player? Certainly. But far from worthy of the hype he receives.

I'm disregarding future potential and talking about now. Griffin is a glorified Josh Smith with worse defense.Laley23;1165653 wrote:Josh Smith is in his like 9th year in the league, Griffin his 2nd

Well then yeah, that makes sense. Still think people are underrating him a bit, because he is very unlikeable on the court. But I cant disagree his game needs a lot of work. I think we see a big improvement next year after they lose in the playoffs and he realized what it takes. Having Chris Paul all offseason will really help him learn to work and improve as well.2kool4skool;1165659 wrote:I'm disregarding future potential and talking about now. His whinning on every call is what's really hurting his image IMO. Comes off as a total baby.

Completely agree. I think the Clips need to sign another guy like Billups. He wouldve been able to really help mentor Grififin (and the whole team) on hard play and defense.Commander of Awesome;1165711 wrote:His whinning on every call is what's really hurting his image IMO. Hoping the Hawks can pull this one out, even though they'll just go to Boston for game six and lose.

Wonder what the Hawks could've done with Horford all year? Great defense on Rondo that last 5 seconds.

Yeah, if definitely wasn't a usual Hawks team this year. I think they could have been a scary team with him healthy.Laley23;1165784 wrote:Wonder what the Hawks could've done with Horford all year? Great defense on Rondo that last 5 seconds.
BUT Josh Smith stepped up in his absence. We probably don't see that with him in there.

True. Maybe next year, now that Smith stepped up and realized what he can do with hard work, we will see it again. But this time, with Horford.wildcats20;1165786 wrote:Yeah, if definitely wasn't a usual Hawks team this year. I think they could have been a scary team with him healthy.

Do they lose anybody to FA? They and the Pacers could be top 3 along with Heat. I think D-Rose will miss a few months and the Bulls will have a tough time having the same type of regular season.

"Kobe glares at the referee" lol play a drinking game when the play by play analyst says that and you'll end the game with alcohol poisoning

Hawks have been the same team for what? Last 5 yrs? I am not expecting them to be anything next season under their current constuction. Horford is def a beast though. Glad to see him back.

Faried is awesome. I wanted the Pacers to grab him, though I cant complain about what George Hill has brought (via the trade for the draft pick of Kwahi Leonard).

I'm glad they are laughin at it tonight, but most nights the Lakers should have a major advantage. Faried and McGee are just playing out of their minds tonight and out hustling themLaley23;1165851 wrote:McGee and Faried laugh at this post!

Yeah, I agree. But they are playing well tonight. Of course, it helps when the lane is parted by the Lakers.Hb31187;1165852 wrote:I'm glad they are laughin at it tonight, but most nights the Lakers should have a major advantage.
