My thoughts exactly.

I wonder what we will do if Choo is out for an extended period of time. Anyone get any updates on this?

Also I would like Hanahan to move up in the lineup but I don't want to screw up his mojo. Especially since him and hafner are the only ones with it going.

Disappointing win, if there is such a thing...scoring no runs with bases loaded and no outs--twice!!!! I don't like Kipnis leading off either-he just doesn't look comfortable at all....but I'll take the W!!!

Kipnis was 1-3 with a BB, RS and SB.

I know he failed with the bases loaded to get the guy in, but he takes pitches and his avg/obp will rise higher up in the lineup. Ill take those numbers from my leadoff any day of the week.

He's a better #2 or #3 IMO--even though Brantley's struggling a bit, he's more suited for the leadoff spot. I'm not a fan of Chris Perez in the closer role either...however, I don't know who we have in the pen that's any better :(

Kipnis ideal spot is #2. But Id rather him in leadoff than Brantley, who doesnt get on base and is not a threat for anything but singles. Brantley is a low 3rd order guy, imo.

Asdrubal is the teams best #2, and Choo is the 3 hole. Then Santana and Hafner. So Kipnis' only spot is then leadoff. He will help us and do more damage there than at #6. Brantley has had his chance and has essentially sucked for 2.5 years leading off. He is like BARLEY a .300 OBP guy for his career. Thats a pathetic OBP in general, but especially when he is leading off. Coupled with no power or run production and at best equal SB abilities as Kipnis and it makes no sense to bat him leadoff.

It will be interesting in a few weeks when Damon is ready and even more when Sizemore is back.

...... but he takes pitches....
you must have missed him swinging at the first pitch after KC walked the bases loaded.

Strikemore will suck and will spread his strikeout disease to everyone else. Nothing new. I am dreading his comeback. I can see him coming in when the team is hot, and the team instantly goes into a slump.

Yeah then Assdribble gets up and does the same thing. WTF GUYS HE JUST WALKED 3 PEOPLE IN A ROW!

Kipnis got a gift right down the middle and tried to crush it and missed, not sure what assdribble was thinking because he swung at a ball.

Kipnis just isn't a leadoff guy--hell, I'd rather see Duncan leading off :p

Yeah...he did the same thing in the opener and it probably cost us the game. Acta gave him a free pass on that, and apparently again last nite. SMH. He can afford to take a pitch in that situation.

I can see if it is his pitch and in his zone I'm fine with swinging. A hit there or a double could have ended up being a huge inning and put the game away. But if it isn't in his zone you take it.

27 pitches...1 out. 2 runs in and 2 men still on.

Good start.

Got out of it. Nice play by Kotchman and then the broken bat line-out. But damn, Royals took advantage of his early control issues. After that he settled it. Francouer jumped on first pitch and then 2 outs.

2 runs shouldn't win this game. If he can settle down and throw up 5 or 6 zeros we should be fine.
