I would not want to go to a game at noon on a Saturday, a little too early for me.
For anyone coming to Reds games this year, I highly recommend the Toby Keith bar. It's almost as close as the Holy Grail to the stadium. The waitresses are hotter than any place I've ever been to and they aren't wearing much. Great food, reasonable prices. Decent live music.

After Cozart's lead-off double, Stubbs productive out, and Votto's walk, BP was set-up for a DP, but he blasted it past the SS for a run and 1st and 2nd with one out, but the inning dies at one run with K's by Ludwick and Rolen on Maholm's slow stuff.

Reds 1/1 on getting the runner in from 3rd with less than two out, while the Cubs are 1/2, so it is 1-1 after one inning.

Leake's chance at a gold glove went out the window with that ill-fated pick-off attempt at 2B.

But his chances of surpassing Homer in the "starter Reds fans want replaced by Chapman RIGHT FUCKING NOW" are going through the roof with the way the Cubs are drilling him today. Six hits, five outs so far.

Whatever road runs right along the stadium (Pete Rose Way?), it's a block or so away from GABP. Between the 2 stadiums.Ironman92;1149393 wrote:Where is Toby Keith's place located?

Yeah, I really miss those days when the daughters were playing to clinch the SEOAL in softball, once against Warren, and twice against Point Pleasant. Won all 3! Do you have a daughter or two playing? I had two pitchers and a 1B.Ironman92;1149394 wrote:Yes sir.

Up to Leake to cut into the 4 run lead with bases loaded and two out.

May have been able to if that weak grounder to 3rd would have hit the bag like it almost did.mhs95_06;1149408 wrote:Up to Leake to cut into the 4 run lead with bases loaded and two out.

My daughter is a 3 year starter as a junior.
You mentioned Point Pleasant....what years were you speaking of....my sister was a 3X all-leaguer at Jackson from 98-01....and Point Pleasant had a sensational pitcher and Marietta had a great 6'1ish pitcher as well.

1999 -- My middle daughter was a Junior, a power pitcher, tall, but not that tall, with lots of leverage, but she got her thumb smashed on the bat and was out for the last 3rd of the season. We had lost a game early in the season at Warren that went to extra innings 0-0 in cold and wind about like Chicago yesterday and beat Point, the defending WVa state champs, at their place early. As I recall, it came down to MTW games the last week. Monday at Logan went to extras and my freshman daughter, best athlete of the 3, but not a power pitcher, came up from JV where she was giving up 8-12 runs a game and came into the game late and lost in extra innings in a game to clinch a tie(I lied earlier). Then on Tuesday played Warren at home and they started the freshman and clinched a tie with a 2-0 victory, then started her again in the final game with Point at home on Wed, and won the SEOAL outright like 5-2 with the big play being an over throw down the RF line on a bunt that scored 2 runs and the bunter ended up on 3rd and then scored also. My first daughter played 1B as a senior in 1999. Then in 2002 the 3rd daughter pitched for the win in her last regular season game at home to beat Point Pleasant to gain a tie for the SEOAL in a game that may have been 1-0.Ironman92;1149414 wrote:My daughter is a 3 year starter as a junior.

In 1998 we got to the district finals in D1, losing 1-0 to Richmond Edison as the power pitcher was a soph. Her senior year in 2000 was marred by a torn ACL which took her from her prime in all her three sports.

Maybe the new pitcher for the Cubs will be the Reds ticket for some runs, along with some more errors!

Wrongly called strike one on the 1-0 pitch to Votto with two runners on and one out!

Reds can't take advantage of the two gift runners and don't score in the 7th. Chances look much worse for a win now!

I hate those underhand flips! Didn't like Leake's earlier in the game either as it almost let the batter beat it. On those close throws should throw it like a dart.
