I am unbiased. I have both perspectives and have no agenda. You however are betting your entire life that your one faith out of millions is correct based on nothing but a 3000 year old book that has fraudulent stories in it. Enjoy!

Hell is not being with God but our souls are is naturally mortal. Eternal life is a gift from God.

Does the Bible describe Hell as simply not being with God? Or does the Bible describe hell as an eternal punishment for the soul?

I think it uses detailed explanations describing horrific punishment so as to as close as possible give us an understanding of what it would be like to not be with God.

I'm interested in Skyhook's take on this.

It seems like you didn't like the idea of hell, so you adapted your interpretation to fit what you want to happen. Kind of a middle ground - you want to be rewarded for the shit you have to put up with here, but you don't necessarily want others to burn in a fire pit for eternity. At the same time, you don't really feel they're entitled to the same reward as you, so......let's just say they don't get a soul when they die and call it a day.

I think Skyhook has what's know as a traditionalists view. It will be very different than mine most likely. They tend to accept bBelief in the continued existence of the soul after death of the body, and the wicked being tormented forever place.

Something my pastor has mentioned in passing, but I thought the point was interesting was, in light of the fact that God, by nature, is a fair God, how would hell be different for the most wicked than the least wicked. I can't remember if he answered it using God's holiness not distinguishing between the two or if His fairness was able to act in that situation.

I thought it was interesting.

Over 90% of those weren't even in the region fit on a boat that sailed for 40 days and 40 nights, storing all the food in the world, without eating, fucking, or destroying the boat. Not to mention, no other culture/civilization ever recorded a flood ever. Our ancestors don't all come from Noah either. If you actually believe the flood existing, please seek medical attention. You're hallucinating.
