I know we have a few lawyers and a few people with masters degrees, but do we have a doctor? I think we need to recruit one.

Thoughts?

Help me out here. Why is it "an" MD? Why not "a" MD?

I think hoops23 is into medicine.

Because the pronunciation of "MD" begins with the vowel sound of 'e'. em-dee. Grammar rules state using an over a when the next word begins with a vowel or vowel sound.

Yeah, but your doctorate is from University of Phoenix Online, so it doesn't really count.

The a/an vowel rule goes by initial sound an not by initial letter.

Examples: an hour, an heir, an honest mistake. One exception is historic: a historic moment is correct.

Letters such as f, m, s, n, and others: an f, an s, for example.

Probably should worry about getting your GED, before you lie about having a Doctorate.

Hope this helps.

Paul Banks was an M.D. student on the old jjhuddle forums, I don't think he ever came over here. He didn't post that much, but when he did, it was usually good. Smart guy.

That might have been his real name, I'm not sure of any pop culture reason why he'd pick that. Or he could have been just joking He was a medical student at UVA, he knew way too much about Charlottesville not to be trolling.

Not an MD, but I think Goosebumps might be a PharmD (he also could still be a student, not certain).

There used to be another poster on here or JJ's who was a physical therapist. Can't think of his name. He also got involved in the posts where someone asked what to do when they had a strain of some sort and he would tell people not to see a chiropractor.

Will be a PharmD in two months. So not a real doctor. Yes you should still call 911 ;)

Good memory by the way.
