Yes, Joffrey must die a horrible death.

Surprised me that he figured out he is indeed inbred and so began systematically hunting down and killing the bastards (ha, not often you get to use that word correctly!) with a claim to the throne. Smarter than I gave him credit for, but I still think he's partially retarded.

I love that he found out he's an incest bastard.

Also, Rob is becoming a real badass.

I thought it was really well done how they showed how quickly his queen has grown up and how cunning she has become in manipulating him already.

But I really wanted him to order the death of his mother when that witch slapped him. That part was disappointing, but it otherwise might have been a little too over-the-top.

It's been too long since season 1, I should have rewatched it. It took awhile in s2e1 for me to get up to speed.

I stumbled upon the season 1 marathon on HBO2 on sunday. I started watching at episode 4 and kept watching all day long. Awesome show. I need to get the DVDs and rewatch the first season.

Read the books, especially the third one.

I won't get the first episode of season 2 until early May. But the first season was very faithful to the plot, and the children's acting was very, very good. But a lot of the history and family information doesn't really translate to the screen. They are long reads, but worth it.

I watched the first episode a few months ago...Watched the rest of the entire first season over the course of two days.

I just watched the 2nd episode last night. It leaked and can be found via torrents.

Still bit slow and building for later episodes.

blu-rays are $44. I'm assume since he is downloading a torrent he could care less about quality etc.

Why would I do that when I already have the whole first season?

I said the 2nd episode of the 2nd season has leaked.

Also, the torrents are DVD rip quality. Good enough for me.

If you have HBO, the first season is probably on, On Demand. That or HBOGo (the greatest app of all time) will have it. Only problem with Go is you need your cable company to pick it up.

Keeping hope up, it would take a multiple $100M budget to do the series justice, but from what I've read the first show and the second (leaked) show are less than impressive.

Yeah they are definitely slow, but I expected it. From what I've read/heard about the upcoming season is going to top the first. Bigger budget, more battle scenes, etc.

I'm a big fan of the dialogue. Tyrion is the man.

I thought the first show was every bit as outstanding as the others. Point taken about the battle scenes and some of the mythical stuff, IMO the risk for this show is the budget with regard to all the quality actors, expensive sets and costumery (the latter two which did in Rome).

HBO's dramas have had some great scenery/backdrops, but what makes them has always been the acting/dialogue/writing. It can obviously be a great show without all the expensive special effects, but ratings will have to continue being off the charts (and perhaps higher) to continue to justify the expansive sets and deep list of talented actors.

Well they certainly have great acting. Peter Dinklage is amazing, the lack of Sean Bean will hurt but in the first season I thought all of the child actors were outstanding.

I thought episode 1 was very good. Keeping in mind, the final episodes are going to be amazing with the battle for the Throne, I expect a lot of filler. If the acting and writing is solid with the fillers though, thats fine by me. As long as a show is moving towards something, I can get behind it.

Having not watched the shows (the real one plus the leaked one), is Tyrion being a bad$^% in King's Landing yet? This season is all about him.

I won't "sack up and just buy it" regarding Season 1 because I've seen them all and they are currently on my computer anyway.
