It's usually a few hours for all 40+ states to tabulate their results and report it. 2-3 AM we'll know if all goes well.

11 numbers - total - on 20 tickets. So I had 120 random numbers, and hit on less than 10%. No powerball, and my expected value is less than 1 number per ticket!

Oh well, fun while it lasted. But imagine the people who get the first 5 numbers and then have >2% chance of winning with the powerball, only to come up short!

2, 4 and 23 were probably popular plays
But that's a tough one. If you were picking your own numbers, would you really have 23 twice? And then 46 is double that, haha.

It's highly likely that someone won, they said 95% of the possible combinations were sold so unless it's in that. 5% we'll have a $12 million jackpot next time.

I would have been perfectly fine taking the first 5 numbers and missing the last number. Sure, I missed out on millions, but $250,000 would make me feel pretty good about things in the morning.

Man, and I even put a dollar in a company pool, making my losses $3. It's a good thing I live in a rural area...no buildings high enough for me to jump off of, since history's stock market troubles have taught me the only way to handle this kind of financial loss is that kind of AN HEROing.

So the winners get $213 mil, minus taxes and adjusted for the present value of the money if they take the lump sum.

Not bad, but not quite $640m.

I wouldn't. 100% chance at 200 mil vs 1/3 chance at 600 mil? You'd be nuts.

Maryland woman won't share $105M lotto jackpot with McDonald's co-workers

Mega Millions mania has plunged a Maryland McDonald’s into a bubbling cauldron of controversy hotter than a deep-fried apple pie.
Workers at the fast-food joint who pooled their cash for tickets are furious at a colleague who claims she won with a ticket she bought for herself and has no intention of sharing.
“We had a group plan, but I went and played by myself. [The ‘winning’ ticket] wasn’t on the group plan,” McDonald’s “winner’’ Mirlande Wilson 37, told The Post yesterday, insisting she alone bought one of the three tickets nationwide that will split a record $656 million payout.
“I was in the group, but this was separate. The winning ticket was a separate ticket,” the single mother of seven said as she and her fiancé left her home in the squalid Westport neighborhood to attend church.
The Haitian immigrant refused to show what she said was the winning ticket, claiming she had it hidden in another location and would present it to lottery officials today.
Pressed as the day went on, she became more cagey.
“I don’t know if I won. Some of the numbers were familiar. I recognized some of [them],’’ she said. “I don’t know why’’ people are saying differently. “I’m going to go to the lottery office [today]. I bought some tickets separately.”
