That, and I've never seen the term on an employment application. Ever. I've never seen anything on an application other than "Hispanic," or "Hispanic/Latino." This, coming from a guy who filled out about 400 applications over an 18 month period.

Kind of interesting comparison you use as it could cut a few ways.

1) Sensationalized story grabbing national attention because of race factors;

2) Supposed victim (Stripper/Zimmerman) turns out to be the one lying and really the guilty party; or

3) People (Police or Consumers of Media) jumping to conclusions before facts are fully investigated.

This case happened 4 weeks ago and just in the past week has been brought to national attention. Something is fishy here...

The media has just picked up on it recently, but it has been a hot topic on large forums like Reddit and Offtopic. The thread on Offtopic has been open since March 2nd and has 6,775 posts. Not including the other multiple threads on the subject.

If I saw a picture of Zimmerman I wouldn't call him white. Hispanic, yes.

Agree with Zwick, the photo on the news doesn't even look like a white guy, he looks like a Mexican/Central/South American Latino. Which he is. Is Danny Trejo white? Is Enrique Iglesias white?

I've seen it numerous times on job applications. Usually on those applications there is a box for "White (non-Hispanic)."

I just don't get the protests. The Grand Jury hasn't even met to discuss the case yet, but because he isn't in jaill right now, people are crying injustice?

The Florida State Prosecutor has said she doubts she will convene a Grand Jury.

I've seen it as well, have you ever seen "Black (non-Hispanic)"? I haven't. Are black Cubans (like El Duque) just Black? It doesn't make sense.

This is a classic example of how people jump to conclusions before knowing all of the facts. Then they paint themselves into a corner and have to stick to their arguments no matter what to save face.

It doesn't matter what "color" the skin is. This sums it all up right here
Now members of the United States' largest minority group, the nation's 38.8 million Hispanics


Essentially, whether he was white, black, purple or red hispanic, either way, it was a minority on minority incident.

...I'm wondering about the "NEW" Black Panther Party putting a "bounty" on this guy Zimmerman. If someone where to collect the bounty by capturing Zimmerman....errrr....whacking this guy, could the Black Panthers be held responsible in a civil trial for his demise?

Now there is a witness who says they saw Zimmerman on the ground and bloody BEFORE the shooting. The police have confirmed that the back of his head was bloody as well as his nose before they questioned him. Sounds like the story that the kid hit him and pounded his head into the ground may be pretty believable. Self-defense sounds more and more realistic every day.

On top of that the kid was on out-of-school suspension for marijuana possession at school and had bragged on Twitter about swinging at a bus driver. This story just keeps getting better.
