Do you think the previous owner would have cut the price nearly in half for anyone else but the new football coach?

I hope you don't think that the Meyers just bought a $2.8M house for almost a 50% discount because the seller was an OSU grad. Because that's not what happened. It seems certain to me that you do though, based on your post.

Yea, I wonder if he did give a discount because he's alumni and it's for the coach. Maybe some other type of bonus dealing with Ohio State football was given to the doctor, like free tattoo's? ;)

It's been on the market and taken off a few times how it sounds. Maybe the previous owner finally thought screw it, he wants to sell and get out of it, so he gave the new coach a discount.

I don't know why that's so unimaginable.

It was never worth $2.8M to begin with. It's likely not even worth $2M. More like $1,750,000 give take a couple hundred thousand. They got a small discount but nothing like you're suggesting.

Very well played.

But, no, not rural by any stretch. Definitely suburban or outlying suburban; it's a subjective definition.

It was a serious question with the evil rich part being the joke/sarcasm. My bad for laughing about it.

The "half" discount is referring to the original listed price. I understand many houses are over-priced on the market and not worth as much being asked. In today's market it is common for the seller to take less then the original asking price.....yea, I get it.

I'll rephrase- I wonder if the original owner considered how long the home was on the market and finally agreed to the price because who the buyer is.
The result was selling for nearly half of the original listed price.

It's not a logical conclusion to think the seller acted in any other manner than as a motivated market participant.

The $2.8M is irrelevant to the Meyer transaction. The seller obviously realized the $2.8M price (whether derived by the realtor's suggestion or his own calculations) was so crazily overpriced that he took it off the market, found a new realtor and re-listed it a full million dollars lower. The house then sat for six months before selling to Meyer.

That should tell you that if the house was worth so much more than what Meyer paid, then it likely would have been scooped up quickly by an investor and resold for a hefty profit and not sat for 177 days without a buyer (177 days on market taken from the MLS).

You listen to shitty music, So I said you listen to shitty music.

You posted something that was not funny, so I sarcastically said it wasn't funny.

Do you want me to be all happy and pretend like I find the things you post to be hilarious? You live in Florida, constantly troll the BIG and OSU, and you are a Florida fan on a mostly BIG/OSU message board. Are you fucking retarded to think you wouldn't get messed with? Not to mention you troll just as much as anyone else. Quit being such a pussy.

Relevant or not, Urban bought a home for a lot less then the original $2.8m asking price.
I should of added "*" and listed why the price was lowered.

LJ has inside info to everything. Remember when I called Urban to Ohio State and LJ was like "No, its never going to happen, I have been told by my source that he isn't taking the job" and then the next day Urban was introduced as the new coach and LJ disappeared for like 3 months? LOL

Those were the good ol' days.

Except anybody who could afford it could have bought that property if they wanted to...but didn't. Urban did not get a super great deal because of who he is. You or I could have paid roughly the same price.

Reading fighting over who bought a house or who knows someone bought rentals. No I stopped after page 2. It was pointless. You guy will argue over anything if it has to do with osu or your probably 34 act score.
