We have basic HD cable for like $14 a month, coupled with Netflix subscription, and we have playon, which lets us play hulu on TV easily. We have Roku, PS3, 360....Roku on the family room, game systems in the basement theater...
I see people one other sites like slickdeals talking about these media server devices (there was a deal for WD live player today, which brings me to posting this thread), but I don't fully understand what they do.
Am I missing something? It this something I could use my PS3 media server for?
I'm good with tech stuff, but I just don't understand what I'm missing...
Are people using this to somehow watch new release movies at home while they are still in theater, or dowloading new TV episodes that aren't available on hulu/netflix and streaming them from their PC or something?
I get that it allows you to stream files from your PC to your TV, but I personally have zero movies/TV shows on my PC....Do people download illegal movie files to a harddrive then stream?
Anyone have a setup like this?
