So I'm in the market for a tv. Looking at about 40" nothing super expensive just something cheaper for my bedroom to get me by playing xbox and streaming from my computer. I currently have a 22" vizio but I find it too small to play video games unless I'm sitting a few feet away. These are what I'm leaning towards. Any suggestions?

TCL 40" LCD 349

or

Insignia 39" LCD for 329

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Insignia%26%23153%3B+-+39%26%2334%3B+Class+/+LCD+/+1080p+/+60Hz+/+HDTV/3689052.p?skuId=3689052&productCategoryId=abcat0101001&id=1218428153915

Both come with 2 year warranty. I would also go w/ a square trade warranty if I bought either of these.

We have a couple small Insignia's and they are decent. I wouldn't not recommend one.

Double negative? You would or wouldn't recommend?

The difference between TVs nowadays is so miniscule that you should just go for price point unless you're looking for something specific as far as internet connectivity or something like that.

Get the Insignia.

I wouldn't not recommend. Meaning I wouldn't say "don't buy one." I'm not usually one to recommend cheap electronics, but yeah, I'd have no problem buying another Insignia tv for a bedroom.

Is that double negative thing an absolute rule or just a general guideline? Because I know exactly what justin meant and it didn't strike me as odd or improper. I'm not sure how else he could say it. He wouldn't discourage you from buying one, I suppose?

I think I just read it too fast. Thanks Justin. I'll probably go with the Insignia even though I despise Best Buy for the price I just need something bigger to play MW3 on.

That TCL is great for the money. I bought one for my cousin for his bar/poker room setup. Sadly, that is actually more than what I paid..it used to be 329

I agree also but the reviews are mostly good on Amazon BUT there have been a bunch of DOA's and the customer service from TCL is terrible. I'm torn. UGH! BTW the TCL has a samsung board so it's decent.

Yeah, the one we got was fine. These cheaper sets don't have as great of contrast ratios...so the blacks aren't as dark. But for the money, it is a good tv.

I may go look at the insignia tomorrow just to get a feel for how the picture looks because I'll assume it's close to the TCL.

Just make sure if you have a BF/husband you make it clear between you two whose TV it is.

It depends. Insignia is just Best Buy's in house brands. Some of them are Samsung boards, some of them are Sony boards, some of them are LG boards. As for the panels.....most companies don't even manufacture the panels, just the boards.

Also, clearly label which Playstation is his, and which is yours. Some dudes can get pretty worked up over that.

If he played PS3 I would dump him just for that. 360 all the way.
