I tried Match several years ago....One of the filter criteria at that time was income! Top level I think was $150k+. There are other online dating sites catering exclusively to hot women looking for rich guys looking for trophy wives. All else equal - and you have a lot of info potential dates from online sites - man or woman will generally choose someone making more money. At least until you've dated some people like that and realize such demanding jobs ultimately get in the way of what you're looking for.

But if you read these profiles of the really hot women, some are fairly direct about looking for guys very well-off. It's a reality that study after study shows men become more attractive to women when they have a lot of money. That doesn't necessarily equate to "gold digging" in it's common/literal use, but women don't generally place as much importance on looks as men do and so the financial stability and lifestyle offered can indeed be a legitimate part of a more attractive overall package.

Bitter? Hardly. I'm not rich but I make a good living and have no interest in dating someone primarily interested only in my money/career potential. The girls who advertise they are a gold digger or make it quickly obvious are doing me a favor. Certainly nothing to be bitter about.
