Yeah. That's where I was and am. Still gradually getting into it, but it's proven to be reasonably useful.

I agree that the medium that unknowingly gave a live "play by play" of Bin Laden's capture and then broke the official news first is worthless.

Ha I don't want them to retweet anything. I want to talk about things they tweet.

For the way I use technology, pretty much. If I'm by a computer I'll check out what's going on in the news. But I don't care up for minute by minute updates since I don't use it that way.

In the case of the Bin Laden thing. I wouldn't have been following that by Twitter. I would (and did) go to CNN or some news site anyways. I'd just follow the story there.

I personally don't think much of the "advantages" that twitter supposedly has.

yeah I was just joking, as Justin pointed out, its incredibly annoying when they do retweet it. I think there are quite a few celebs/athletes that interact with fans but regular folk like us just don't see it. Unless you are also following the person they are responding to, you won't see them tweeting back to people.

I think it's alright but I don't think it's anything that special. The only sports team I really follow enough to care about the news they put out is the Ravens and I get texts reporting anything and everything they do. The only thing I have found amusing about it so far are the random political debates I have engaged in. It gets interesting.

Start following guys like Shefter, Mort, etc. Then see who they retweet. You can probably follow about 100 NFL guys in the media youve never heard of. You will get more NFL insider news you could ever hope for. 90% wont make to the "public".

Also, reading the Bin Laden Tweets was awesome. Can't imagine living in a country like that. CNN is fine to get news, but they were massively behind on the Bin Laden stuff, and all they did was show the White House. Twitter had links all over the place to foreign news etc. It was so much better, more interesting, and informational than anything the American News put out. I was glued to Twitter, and had CNN on in the room. Twitter was 50000x better for coverage.

I love the information speed on twitter. I just only use it when I'm sitting and waiting for something, which hasn't been often lately.

I fall into this category. I had a twitter account for a few months but I found myself simply not giving a shit after awhile.

I had Penn from Penn & Teller reply to a tweet once. I had someone else reply to one too, but I can't remember who it was.

For the record, twitter within the last year even, has gotten so much better. It's almost by default as Erechtheum really isn't a journalist worth shit not on twitter. So while it was good and quick before, now with everyone on and the journalists and news outlets following there peers it is Ben better, bigger and faster

It is great for sports/news feed. By the time you see a newspaper, things seem like really old news... lol. I do not follow many celebs (a few golfers, poker players, and chefs), but I follow quite a few sports writers and a few news feeds.

Hank Haney has responded pertaining to a Tiger Woods comment I made. He is very active and great with giving out information about the golf swing. Gary Williams (Host of the Morning Drive Program) of the Golf Channel often responds.

Twitter is much more entertaining and informing than I expected.

Twitter will be one of the leading factors in the death of the newspaper.

Twitter is much more entertaining and informing than I expected.

This x 1 million. I swore against it when it first came out but now I use it all the time. Don't really post on it all that much except for re-tweets but use it a lot for getting info.

I've had several exchanges with athletes. Carlton Mitchell follows me, I've had a conversation with David Lighty last season, and I met Josh Cribbs at Cedar Point because of Twitter.

I don't follow many celebs, mostly athletes, news, tech, and friends. I love it 100x more than FaceBook though because it's not full of constant bitching/drama.

As Laley said, it's cool to get on twitter to see your timeline blowing up about a certain game... Rondo and DWill both blew up my timeline as they were having their great games.

Twitter had the Bin Laden story way before CNN went to report it. Also found out about MJ's death on twitter before I saw it on TV...

I found out about beibers death and eminems death on Twitter. So I take all the news there with a grain of salt.

This. The few friends of mine who are also on twitter usually post everything they post on Twitter on Facebook as well. I only follow a few celebrities, but rarely pay attention to anything they tweet. I do follow a lot of national sports guys (mainly college football and college basketball), and many Buckeye tweeters. They provide great up-to-the-second info and often insightful and humorous commentary I wouldn't get anywhere else. I've also had many times where I have tweeted questions or comments to celebs/sports writers and gotten responses or been retweeted by them. Sometimes I even wonder how I watched sports before Twitter.
