BS in organizational communications with minors in business and public administration. Found a job in sales/marketing within 3 months of graduation during the previous "worst economy since the Great Depression" in 1983. The pay was average but I moved into managment within a few years and things got better. I've been with the same company for 28 years. Despite the company being sold and moved to 2 different locations in that time frame, I still enjoy it. In today's rapidly changing economy coupled with constantly changing technologies, you need to be willing to go with the flow.

+1. I know I've harped on this a million times before, but seriously, if anyone reading this thread is thinking about law school, don't go. If you still think you want to go, send me a PM and let me talk you out of making the worst decision of your life.

I would like to say the same thing...but if you look at any state's Department of Education job board, then the jobs are there.

The problem is, these teachers want a job that is in the area that they want to live in. Most of the time, it seems, they don't want to relocate to find that job that pays them. My wife is a prospective teacher, as well, and we know that it'll be hard trying to find that job where we want to live -- especially if it is based around moving for my job. It's going to be interesting in 8-9 months when I am on the job search again to see what happens. Hopefully one [or both] of us can land a job and life will be much easier.

BS in Chemical Engineering
BS in Applied Math
MS in Chemical Engineering

Yes and yes... had a jub 5 months before I graduated and it paid very well.

You can't go wrong with engineering if you can hack the coursework.

In 2010 when the unemployment rate hit 9.6%, unemployment for engineers was at 0.4%.

You will always have a job as an engineer if you want one and you aren't a douche.

Marketing for a place called Prolanthropy. They put on philanthropy events and manage foundations for pro athletes. A nice way to get into sports related industry without starting out in sales and cold calling every single day.
