Pick a major where you will have a specific job nothing broad. My first degree was marketing and with the way the job market is it's pretty much impossible to land a job without a specialization. Went back got my acct degree and had a job before I fully had the degree.
Also know that in the next couple years you will lose many people you thought were friends but gain a few really close ones

Here is some advice that I give to many students: GO TO A TWO YEAR SCHOOL!
Go to a two year school, especially if you are unsure of what you want to study. Not only do you save money, but you get paper after your first two years of college (in most cases). In many colleges/universities, having an associates dregree is better than just having two years of college. I always look at a two year dregree as a "save point." You may go for those two years and absolutely HATE college, but you have some paper to fall back on. You go to a four-year school for two year, decide you don't like it... the only thing you (probably) have to show for it is debt.

I agree with this. You can save mucho dinero this way loading up on pre-requisites and nobody is going to care that your first two years were at a 2 yr school. Tuition at Columbus State, for example, are $79 per credit hour, whereas most of the state schools are around $250 per credit hour. My neighbors kid went to Columbus State his first two years and then finished up with a degree in biomechanical engineering at Ohio State. Do you know if all of his Columbus state credits transferred? I'm not knocking the 2 year degree route, but I have friends who thought they were smart starting at Columbus State, but when they transferred not all of their classes transferred. He graduated in four years and I am pretty sure most if not all of his credits transferred. His dad constantly raves about what a good deal it was (obviously). For him, I am guessing the issue of GPA was a non-factor since he was accepted to medical school. He will be attending a two year school next fall, with the hopes of continuing his education afterward.

Columbus State is more compatible than Wright State, and when I transferred from WSU I had only one class that didn't "transfer" and it technically did...but I didn't get a BIO credit for it, so I had to retake Biology 102 at OSU.

Dlazz is speaking of his credit hours from Wright State. You commented about Columbus State. I think the point Dlazz was making is that credit hours transfer easier from Columbus State than they do from WSU. I think he is very right in this assessment.
